Views of El Calafate and The Andes - This was not the type of tour I expected, but it turned out to be very enjoyable. We were tightly packed into a 4WD vehicle for about an hour as we drove along a bumpy dirt road to the top of one of the plateaus that overlooks El Calafate. The views from the top were beautiful sweeping views of El Calafate, the Andes, and Lake Argentino. The guide cooked some marinated beef on an old outdoor stone stove for some tasty sandwiches. Plenty of food, wine, soda, water.

Good view, interesting geology - The tour was interesting and Hector drove us to see a couple information panels located on the trails so we’d know about what we were seeing and the geological history.
However, we signed up for a tour that included English and Hector does not speak English. He did all that he could, was very friendly and our sign language communications helped get through the half day.
Lunch was a wonderful surprise, cooked before our eyes. It was very good and all 7 of us enjoyed it.
Hector drove the vehicle to pick all of us up, drove the whole tour, did what he could to help us understand, cooked, served, cleaned up and drove us back to the hotels. We could all use a man like Hector! ¡Muchas gracias, Hector!
