Lago Argentino - Second Stop: CERRO NEGRO
(Total walking distance: approximately 1,000 meters / Difficulty: medium, gentle slope.)
Disembark at Cerro Negro and, accompanied by the boat’s guide, embark on a hike through the Patagonian Andean forest. Follow a river that leads to Cerro Negro itself. Reach a few meters from the base of this hill and marvel at the stunning Black Glacier. This “hanging” glacier, situated on the mountain, gives rise to numerous waterfalls that feed the river followed during the walk. Spend some time here, taking in the breathtaking scenery. Lago Argentino - After sailing, exit the Seno Mayo del Lago Argentino to continue along the Canal de los Empanos. During this part of the tour, enjoy lunch on board (bring your own meal). In a few minutes, the northern wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier will come into view at the end of the Channel. Upon arrival, navigate slowly in front of this wall. Disembark at Puerto Perito Moreno to proceed, with the ship’s guide, to the walkways located in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Enjoy free time to explore and observe the glacier from various viewpoints. At the time specified by the guide, return to Puerto Perito Moreno to re-embark and head back to the starting point, the Port of Punta Bandera.

The Seno Mayo (also known as Brazo Mayo) is one of the dampest regions of the National Park, hence the vegetation seen throughout the two hikes (which we will undertake in the Patagonian Andean Forest) is completely distinct from that found elsewhere in the National Park. The ‘Mayo Spirit Trek’ seamlessly merges forest hikes, waterfall views, rivers, hanging glaciers, and a tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier (navigation + boardwalks). With trails of mild difficulty that are accessible to all, our voyage leaves our patrons thoroughly enchanted.
