We had an amazing... - We had an amazing experience on the Full Day El Chalten trip from El Calafate. We were lucky to be just our family of 4 on the bus and it was like a ‘custom’ tour. The tour was managed by Al Patagonia Travel and Tourism. Our guide Daniela was awesome. She was very pleasant, knowledgeable, nature lover and very good with English. We learned and discussed a lot about the area, landscape, animals, trees, plants, birds and flowers on our way. She even walked with us to the Condor Viewpoint at Chorrillo del Salto. The trip was really good. We enjoyed the landscape, lakes and rivers and mountain views in the distance. We saw some guanacos, condors and other animals. The stop at Parador La Leona was quaint and enjoyable. The landscape and waterfall at Chorrillo del Salto were amazing. The walk up the hill to the Condor Viewpoint was pleasant with breathtaking views of El Chalten, the awesome landscape and Fitz Roy and other mountain peaks in the distance. Being able to see some condors flying around from the top was awesome. El Chalten was a small town to walk through with nice streets, houses, restaurants, ice cream and other shops and great views. The whole trip was very much worth it and we enjoyed every bit of it.

Beautiful Landscape. - It was a very fun experience. We had a lot of fun traveling through the area from El Calafate to El Chalten. We got to climb one of the mountains to get a better view of the area and traveled down a dirt road that lead to a Beautiful Waterfall.

A Good Way to See Mount Fitz Roy and El Chalten - This turned out to be a much larger tour group than I expected. Picked up from my accommodation in a van, but soon transferred to a coach bus, with 40 tourists on board. We were offered two options for the day: 1) do a short guided hike up to a lookout offering good views of Mount Fitz Roy and the peaks nearby, followed by lunch in a local restaurant, or 2) do a longer self-guided hike to get closer to Mount Fitz Roy, with a boxed lunch. I opted for (1). The only negative was the 45,000 ARS park pass that was needed to gain access to do the hike. Expensive, considering the hike only took about one hour in total. After lunch, we drove east of town, for an easy 500 meter hike to a waterfall. Many, many tour groups doing the same, resulting in WAY too many people at the waterfall simultaneously, literally tripping over one another, and jockeying for photos. Bedlam. Think the tour companies need to get together, and arrange slot times for the waterfall, to have their groups arrive at different times.

Good excursion - Everything was fine, Luis, our guide, always attentive and very friendly. The food ok, the walks aren't as long as one would like.

Find a different tour operator. - Was not impressed with tour guide. Signed up for English speaking guide but she did both languages plus a speech tick which made it very fatiguing to listen too. I had to drown her out as to not have a massive headache.

Great sights, old equipment, food mediocre - The bus provided could barely make it up the hills, the rear speakers did not work so we could not hear the commentary. The bus was hot and driver was eventually able tovget some air going. The guide Gabriella was frustrated with the poor equipment provided and did her best to walk to back of bus to provide commentary and directions. The stops and sights were very good. The lunch location was fine but the milanesas were mediocre at best. The guide told us to complain to the provider company about the equipment quality.

Terrible day - Nothing really - seeing condors was good. The rest was awful and I’ve already complained to the operator in El Calafate who is not interested in what I have to say but I expect a refund or compensation as the guide was not able to guide in English only Spanish which is no good to me. The only map she had of the mountains in El Chalten was in Spanish as well. The pick up was late and unable to contact the company on the number provided. It was not worth the money or for that matter my valuable and limited time in El Calafate. I could have organised something else. I await your comments and compensation.
