Camel ride in Sahara Desert - This definitely was the highlight excursion for us. We heard several people comment on this trip and asked questions before going. Everyone we talked to recommended it. We are so happy we booked it. This is a must do. So worth the early mornings and the long drive. The guide and the drivers are all professional and did such a wonderful job. The bus is also equipped with a charging block in every row. Plenty of photo ops along the way so you will need it, bring charge cables. Also bring enough extra cash. You will need money for stops, extra fees not included, Room tax, Extra photos, tips, etc. The hotel in Douz has a few rooms that are on the cool side, bring warm clothes. Lots to see and do on this excursion. The best part, of course, is the camel ride. Well worth it!!! Such an experience. And the camels are calm and easy to ride. Just enjoy. But be sure to go if you're even thinking about it.

Brilliant once in a lifetime tour - Very good tour, quite tiring as you do travel 750 miles but very worth it! You do so much once in a lifetime activities. I’m very sorry to not remember their names but the tour guide and bus driver were brilliant and lovely!

AMAZING 🔥🔥 - AMAZING! This is the indispensable excursion to make when you stay in Tunisia, not to make this excursion and not to go to the desert is not to discover Tunisia. We were lucky enough to be accompanied by Mohammed Ali and Omar the driver.
These 2 days are very dense but necessary to see and do as many things as possible. Take the camel ride and the quad bike is really nice! Mohammed was really top! It’s amazing to speak so much language, a true kind guide and listening to his group! We were with 15 and 17 year olds and they loved it too. Thank you so much!

Good Value for money trip! - It was a great experience overall (4.5/5). Very informative and supportive guide, set places and route. Every event planned to the tee and executed on time. It's 1100km (approx) across Tunisia over a gruelling terrain. Lucky we did it in January, in sunshine and milder weather.
Though the places to eat and sleep were decent, believe the food could be better. Loved the camel ride Avg 4×4 ride deep into Sahara.

Busy trip with a packed itinerary - The itinerary was very busy but it was really comprehensive. The organiser tried to show as many interesting places in Tunisia acrosd the south and west as possible. However, if you like a lie-in, the trip is not for you -early departures and busy schedule.

Almost perfect tour - A tour worthwhile, we got a lot of insights into the country and got to know it better. You have to know before the tour that you still have tips or drinks (including water). The hotel at night is very dirty. But the tour and bus ride are very worthwhile and I would do it again and again.

Mixed feelings - Well, it very well planned and the guide followed the plan as it was. People were always punctual so that help es a lot.
The places we visited were very nice and interesting: the troglodite family welcomed us in their home, the dromedary ride to the sunset was beautiful and the Sahara exploration in the all-terrain vehicles was good.
However, the guide was Kind of harrising us to tip everyone we met: him, the bus driver, the dromedary guides, the all-terrain vehicle drivers. Not only was he very, very insistent on giving tips, but he also asked if we had actually tipped the tour bus driver before saying goodbye. I dont know, maybe its a cultural thing, but this was a paid tour, not like the ones you do in big cities for free and then you are expected to give money to the guide at your will. If Faris is your guide, you know what to expect.

Bof bof - What to say, excursion to the steps of races. It's all timed. Two descents into the Sahara sand and it’s already time to go again. What the representatives of World Tourism omit to say is that the awakening is very early at 4:15. No room for relaxation. Too bad.

Great value - a very honest review - Absolutely incredible spots to go and see, everything from the amphitheater, a Berber house, and the set of Star Wars! Genuinely great value for money to see everything.
Day 1:
The tyre of the bus fell off so stopped on the side of the road, oddly no one complained used it as a toilet break and spirits between the guests were high and we all started bonding well. Funnily enough the second bus we got on also broke down.
Amphitheater - as we arrived we were told we had only 20 minutes to look around so was unable to go underground, although the amphitheater was stunning it felt too short. The tour guide after the amphitheater shouted at a child on the trip.
We stopped for lunch and the food was very good and views stunning.
Then headed to the Berber house to have a look around seeing various traditions.
Camel ride/atv (additional cost)- after reading other reviews other trips were dropped off at the hotel while others went camel riding for our trip everyone had to stop at the camel ride. We enjoyed the sunset over the sands and was a great way to finish the day to the check into the hotel.
Day 2:
Went back to the camel ride to watch the sunrise (don’t remember this being part of the itinerary another additional cost) this went until 8.30am then set off to the salt flats.
The salt flats on the itinerary was meant for the sun rise but on our tour it ended up being a 5 minute toilet break. I took my first picture here at 10.04 and final picture at 10.11 as we were being told to get on the bus. Others were still taking a few pictures so the tour guide shouted at them again.
Star Wars - got into the land cruisers to drive across the dunes, super fun experience and arrived at the set. When we’re arrived, guess how long we had… 20 minutes. Quick Look around, photos and toilet break were headed back for the bus. Little tip here, there was a man making bread in the fire next to one of the stands, make sure you have it, it was delicious!!
Horse ride to the oasis (mandatory additional cost) - little horse ride to the oasis and a walk around, beautiful to see an oasis in the desert.
Lunch - 1530
After lunch this is where it gets fun!
A lady left her phone at the restaurant, driver literally out the gates and realised so the tour guide shouted at her as she got off the bus and then came back on absolutely berated her. The back of the bus started singing to keep spirits high, this was really sweet because although we’d spent a day together the group bonded. We stopped at a few cafes and gift shops and toilet breaks. Stopped off at a local cafe for a toilet break and snacks, again with the tour guide shouting at a different lady on the bus for waiting for a coffee. We got to Kairouan at 2000 (two and a half hours after we were meant to get back to the hotel). With Kairouan the mosque was closed and the only thing that was open was the gift shop, this was made to feel like another toilet break, but what happened was a guests noticed that the tour guide was being incentivised to take us to these local stops on the way back.
A guest was due to fly back home the next day and asked what time would we get back as she originally believed it to be 5.30 so hadn’t packed yet, guess what happened… he shouted at her again! The guest had a friend on the same tour (different bus) who got back to their hotel at the correct time and was shocked to find out about our huge detour. Getting back on the bus one of the older guests asked simply why the mosque was closed and why the gift shop was open, the guide then jumped on the microphone and shouted at her in front of the bus calling her a lier (don’t know how you can lie by asking a question) and screaming saying ‘you must respect me’. A couple of guests pulled their phones out to film so won’t be surprised if that gets online somehow. After a very awkward 3 hours back we eventually got back to our hotel after 11pm and missed dinner. All we ate was a small breakfast and a bit of pasta and chicken for lunch. I guess the good part is I know I haven’t put on any weight in an all inclusive.
Overall, (jheeze I’ve written most than I thought) the trip is fantastic for the sights you see and if you stick to the itinerary and the time actually allocated properly this would have been an amazing trip. But for us the tour guide and lack of time in each place brought this down dramatically, though still happy with the amount we explored just wish we had more quality time doing so. If you’re a woman I wouldn’t advise to go on your own with a guide like this and if you’re going with your partner, men be prepared to stand up for them. Great value for money with what you saw in Tunisia! But Michel I think it’s time for you to retire now.
