Visit the Giza Pyramids, including the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then, explore the Valley Temple where priests mummified King Chephren’s body. You’ll also get an up-close view of The Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren.
- Saqqara - Next, visit Saqqara, located just 27 km southwest of Cairo. See the Step Pyramid, built for King Zoser, which is a crucial part of the pyramid’s evolution from a simple mastaba to its more recognized form.
- Pyramids of Dahshour - Continue to the Dahshur Pyramids, including the Bent and Red Pyramids. Dahshur is a royal necropolis in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Cairo. It is known for its well-preserved pyramids, some of the oldest and largest in Egypt, built between 2613–2589 BCE.
- Memphis and Sakkara - Then, visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, home to the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx. This city dates back to 3100 B.C.
At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
- Mastaba of Ti - The Mastaba of Ti is one of Saqqara’s most significant archaeological sites, discovered by Auguste Mariette. The tomb features two serdabs and walls adorned with scenes of everyday life. Ti was a senior official and royal architect in the Fifth Dynasty, serving under several kings and overseeing the sun temples of Neferirkare and Niuserre. His wife was Neferhetepes.
- Pyramid of Unas - The Pyramid of Unas, built in the 24th century BC for Pharaoh Unas, the ninth and final king of the Fifth Dynasty, is the smallest Old Kingdom pyramid. It is notable for the Pyramid Texts, spells for the king’s afterlife inscribed on the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts began with Unas’s pyramid and continued through the Old and Middle Kingdoms, forming the basis of the Book of the Dead.
- Pyramid of Teti - Located in Saqqara, the Pyramid of Teti is an ancient structure built as the final resting place for Pharaoh Teti. This impressive pyramid showcases the architectural skill of the Old Kingdom and attracts visitors worldwide. Explore its chambers and corridors to uncover the mysteries of ancient Egypt and immerse yourself in the rich history of this iconic landmark.
