Cairo Pyramids and Museum

Pyramids of Giza - Your private Cairo tour guide and driver will take you to the famous Giza Plateau, home to Egypt’s iconic attractions, including the Great Pyramids, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You’ll visit the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the middle pyramid of Khephren, the smallest pyramid of Mykerinos, and the mysterious Sphinx, known as the Father of Terror for the ancient Pharaohs. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple facing the Great Sphinx.

The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - Next, you’ll be transferred to the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, which houses a collection of over 120,000 masterpieces from the pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era, and Greco-Roman period in Egypt. After the museum visit, you’ll return to your hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay. Please note: There is an additional charge for entering the Pyramids and the Solar Boat Museum. Speak with your tour guide if you wish to purchase a ticket for these sites. There is also an additional charge for the Mummies Room at the Egyptian Museum.

Old and Coptic Cairo Sightseeing

Cairo Citadel - After breakfast at your hotel, your tour guide will take you to the Old Citadel of Salah el-Din.

Cairo - The tour continues with a visit to the Christian heritage sites in Coptic Cairo, including early religious monuments such as the Hanging Church, also known as the Suspended Church. This basilica church is named for its location atop the south gate of the Fortress of Babylon and became the center of the Christian Church of Egypt. Overnight stay in Cairo.

Mosque of Muhammad Ali - You’ll visit the Mohammed Ali Alabaster Mosque, designed and built in the Turkish style, similar to the Blue Mosque in Turkey. This magnificent structure is situated at a high point overlooking Old Cairo, offering spectacular views across the city to the Pyramids. It also hosts several interesting museums, including the Police, Military, Old Islamic Cairo, and museums covering the old and modern history of Egypt.

Fly Cairo to Aswan – Nile Cruise

Aswan - After breakfast, check out from your hotel in Cairo and transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival at Aswan International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative and transferred to your Nile Cruise for embarkation.

Aswan High Dam - 2:00 PM – Visit the High Dam. The Aswan Dam, specifically the Aswan High Dam built between 1960 and 1970, is one of the world’s largest embankment dams. Its significance eclipsed the earlier Aswan Low Dam, completed in 1902 downstream.

Temple of Philae - The Philae Temple, an ancient site saved stone by stone, was relocated to Agilkia Island when the UNESCO World Heritage Site was threatened. Visit the Philae Temple.

Edfu - The Temple of Edfu, located on the west bank of the Nile in Edfu, Upper Egypt, is one of the best-preserved temples of the ancient world, dedicated to Horus the Falcon God. The Temple of Horus at Edfu was buried under sand and silt for nearly two thousand years. Construction began in 237 B.C. and took 25 years to complete.
