When Things are Tolteca - It was our first time visiting a pyramid. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us an amazing introduction to the history of Mexico and the mysteries of Tolteca-Chichimecas. Now we are better able to appreciate and understand the symbolisms behind some of the cultural artifacts of a lost civilization.

Interesting and educational - The tour guide, Armando, speaks both Spanish and English fluently and is easy to understand. He does a great job explaining the history and the culture of the indigenous people that lived in the Queretaro region. He also relates the history to modern day Mexico. I learned a lot of new information and highly recommend this tour with Armando.

Nice tour that is rich with historical information - It was about a full hour in the museum where Armando describes the history of the area and artifacts found. Then you spend about another hour outside the museum walking the grounds as you approach the pyramid. Armando knows the history well and is able to point out features that you would otherwise not have noticed and expands on them with historical reference. He has an excitement about the history and Queretaro that you feel in his story telling. Would highly recommend to those that enjoy the history of the area and of Mexico itself. I went on a hot afternoon, highly recommend bringing a hat and a water bottle. Thank you Amando

Eyes opened about the early kingdoms of Mexico. - Our guide Armondo, introduced us to the fascinating world that Mexico before the arrival of the Spanish. For us who had only heard of Mayans and Aztecs we were amazed at the scale of the many kingdoms that lived and fought for control of this area, especially the Toltecas who had built the pyramid we experienced. Armando’s explanation of the way that the Spanish dealt with the many kingdoms as they set about to bring them into an enduring alliance was far beyond anything we had understood. One of the major pleasures of this tour was that Armondo shattered many of the prejudices that we had held about the Spanish in Mexico. If only the British and French had behaved in this way in early dealing with the indigenous people of my country.
