A great way to see Alexandria - We did this our second (and final) night in Alexandria and it was well worth doing! Our guide walked us to our horse carriage (which was about a block from our hotel). We went along the Corniche to see the Mediterranean as the sun was setting. She had the carriage driver stop several times throughout the night to get some food. This experience was different, because on other tours then guides would say "I will buy you this" what they mean is that they will buy it for you and then ask you to give them the money for it. All of these little stops for local treats were included. In fact, we ate so much that evening on this tour that we skipped dinner (because we were so full). As great as the Corniche is, going into older parts of Alexandria was even nicer. We then took time to do some walking once the traffic had died down with the evening. We ended up at some dessert place and got what you see in the picture. Wow, that was good and I don't know what all was in it. We couldn't finish it. They wrapped up the left overs and we were given the left overs in the ceramic dishes (which we brought home with us). Our guide was great and helped us learn more about Alexandria. We walked back to our hotel and she had a car waiting for us to take us to the beach. This was more than a week into our time in Egypt and we were exhausted, so we passed on going to the beach at night. Again, Alexandria is an amazing city and we saw parts of the city we never would have seen on our own. Dessert time made us feel like locals!
