Animal welfare comes first here - For us and our children, staying with this organization was the highlight on Ko Samui! Animal welfare comes first here, and you really get the impression that the elephants are visibly better off here after being rescued from the elephant rides. From the beginning, hygiene was very important so that the animals would not poison themselves due to sunscreen and the chemicals. After preparing the meal for the elephants, we were allowed to feed them at a designated feeding station. On the large area we were allowed to watch the elephants eating and mud bathing and also take photos. Lastly, we were also free to take a bath with the elephants and splash them with water and brush them. Everything went without compulsion for the elephants! We can highly recommend this organization!

Highlight of our trip! - Although my family (with two teens) was hesitant to want to go on a hot June afternoon, Samui Elephant Sanctuary ended up being the best part of our trip! There was ample shade, the staff was very helpful, and seeing and caring for the elephants up close was truly spectacular. Highly recommend!

Amazing! - This was the highlight of our holiday! I didn’t know what to expect but this experience was everything. From the moment you arrive, you can tell from the dedicated staff that the care and welfare of the elephants is the priority. There is plenty of time to feed and have photos with the elephants but the elephants are not forced to stay for photos (they do stay for food!) Tips 1. Wear plenty of sunscreen and mosquito repellent. 2. If you want to bath the elephants, bring swim clothes, swim shoes and towel. You need to shower before you get in as sunscreen/ mozzie repellent is not good for the elephants.

Nice short trip - Very well organized trip, very skilled and professional staff. Good program (all in all it was maybe an hour and a half actually with the elephants). Good meal. We had the idea that the elephants were treated well and kindly, although sometimes I got the idea that the elephants are still exploited for the tourists despite being 'saved'. All in all a nice short trip, especially with some older children.
