Great Experience - The tree plantation tour was amazing! My family and I had lots of fun and it was nice and shady while picking the leaves. We were taken on the tour by Sallay, who gave a very informative talk about the tea plantation. After the talk we were able to pick our own leaves, guided by a professional tea picker who was dressed in beautiful traditional attire. I don’t even drink tea but I really enjoyed this experience! It is definitely worth doing if you are in Ella.

Activities not to be missed - I had no expectations, but I was completely amazed by the visit to the plantation 🤩 The scenery on the surrounding mountains is breathtaking and Salley’s teachings on growing tea are fascinating. Picking tea with Mariko, a 70-year-old woman, makes us aware of the hard work of this industry. I would never drink my tea the same way again, gratitude 🙏🏻

Great experience for a family - We came on a Sunday and the factory tour wasn’t available so we did the plantation tour. It was excellent! The guide, Himendra, was kind and informative (even spoke a little French to us!) but didn’t talk for too long, and the kids were not bored. The tea leaf picking was fun and memorable, we will all be more grateful for our cups of tea in the future. The kids liked picking the tea leaves and throwing them in the baskets, even though it was hard work! The tea tasting was informative and incredible, we know a lot more now! Our kids are 9 and 12 and this was a great family outing.

A little boring - The tour of the tea plantation was a bit boring. You will get some explanation about which part of the tea plant is used for which type of tea and an experienced picker will show you how to pick tea. Then there's another tea tasting. You pay 10 euros per person for this.
