Best Tour, Best Tour Guide! - We recently took a waterfall tour with Ella Holiday, guided by Dinuka, and it was an experience we’ll never forget. From the moment Dinuka picked us up at our hotel, his positive energy set the tone for the entire day. The breathtaking views alone were worth the trip, but Dinuka’s stories and insights about Ella added a special touch as we made our way to the waterfall. Throughout the hike, Dinuka was incredibly helpful and kind, always ensuring that we had plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy the surroundings at our own pace. When we reached the waterfalls, he made the moment even more memorable by treating us to some Sri Lankan tea and cookies, creating a delightful picnic vibe. Dinuka’s knowledge of the area and his ability to make each moment feel special truly enhanced our experience. We were 100% satisfied with everything that day and couldn’t recommend Dinuka as a tour guide more highly. If you’re in Ella, I strongly recommend taking a tour with him—you’ll discover hidden gems and take in stunning sights that aren’t yet well-known. It was an unforgettable day!

Unspoiled nature, village life and amazing food - This tour was so much more than we expected! Our guide Dinu taught us so much about every aspect we experienced. We are a family of four, with kids aged 10 and 13. The hike was 14 kilometers mostly downhill, with one slight uphill in between. We walked through tea fields and saw the tea pickers at work. We passed two small villages and after a steep downhill through dense forest and grassland we arrived at the fabulous waterfall with a deep pool of cold water that we dove into for a refreshing swim after the rather sweaty hike. Then we walked an easy 30 minutes through pine forest and arrived at the last waterfall, the tallest in Sri Lanka. Near the waterfall we had the best food we have had in Sri Lanka, better than any fancy restaurant in the city. During the hike we saw all kinds of birds, lizards, butterflies and even monkeys in the trees. Our guide had an incredibly sharp eye and spotted the lizards from far away, our kids called him the lizard wizard. He also told us all about the tea plantations and village life in the mountains and had a few surprises in store for us along the way. We had a day full of education, exercise, wildlife and delicious food. Really unforgettable!

No more nine arches - Let me start by saying that if you're only coming to Ella for the Nine Arches Bridge, tea factory or cooking class, you're missing out on the beauty of Ella and its mountain scenery. A day before my tour, Dinaku confirmed the schedule with me. I realized that I had mistakenly booked the tour for the wrong day, but Dinaku was prompt and efficient in fixing the issue. He arranged for Ranjie to be my tour guide. I had an amazing day with Ranjie! We went on a long walk and had an incredible conversation about Sri Lanka's history, economy, politics, and everything in between. But that's not even the best part! The landscape was absolutely breathtaking; it was like something out of a dream. And guess what? I even went for a swim outside of a pool right under the waterfall for the first time! But wait, there's more. We stumbled upon some wild peaches and even brewed our tea on a tea field. What an adventure! The price I paid was pretty transparent - no tourist shop, no hidden fees, just a flat rate that included the train ride, water, snacks, admission tickets, fantastic lunch, and tuk-tuk. So, if you're planning a trip to Sri Lanka, don't just stick to the beaches and resorts. There are breathtaking mountain views to explore, and Dinaku & Ranjie’s group can offer you an unforgettable experience.

Great day trip with beautiful views - I did the tour with Dinu hunting waterfalls. Great tour, something different from the standard tourist trail in Ella. It’s a moderate level trek, all downhill but some parts through the bush. Dinu is a great guide with lots of knowledge and taking care of everything from start to finish. Great lunch at the end to reward your hard work!

Amazing hike with the most well prepared guide! - Despite getting into a huge tropical rainstorm this was the best hike in our lives! Thanks to our guide Dinu we went off a beaten track and seen a true untouched Sri Lankan nature. We have walked through the forest and mountains, seen local villages and of course numerous waterfalls. Dinu shared so many interesting facts with us! On top of that he was definitely the most well prepared guide we have ever met. He had water, snacks, hot tea, all the medicines you might need and even beers! He took amazing care of us and gave us some many gifts (local snacks, handmade coconut tea cups, bananas grown by his family and so much more). This was overall an amazing experience which we can definitely recommend to anyone visiting Sri Lanka!

Best Guide ever! - The tour was very nice, but was not exactly what we expected from the description, so it took longer, than we planed. The hiking trail is bit rough, you should be defininetly in a good physical condition. But… it turned out to be a GREAT day by our tour guide Dinuka!!! Little suprises at many Spots, explaining everything and great ideas what else to see (Tea factory!) It makes such a difference, when you feel that someone loves his job. Thank you very much.
