• Encinitas - Surfing is one of the purest ways to feel connected to the ocean, but it can be quite a challenge! With over 5 years of experience teaching surf lessons, we are certain that you will leave the lesson with a smile on your face.

We will teach the basics of surfing; how to paddle out to the lineup, how to position yourself in the lineup, how to catch waves and stand up, and potentially; how to ride along the face of the wave!

Surfing can be challenging, but if you come into the experience with a determined mindset and you put the effort into it, you are sure to succeed!

Surfing can provide an unparalleled thrill. It demands practice, patience, and fosters a deeper appreciation for the vast ocean.

I’ll be waiting for you at the seaside with a surfboard, leash, and a wetsuit, ensuring your comfort and warmth!

Before we get started, we will cover the necessary safety measures and the appropriate etiquette of a novice surfer. Following this, you’ll learn the correct paddling technique, the essentials of the pop-up, and the method to approach the lineup. Once we master the basics on the beach and rehearse a few times on the sand, we will be set to conquer the waves!

Throughout, I’ll stay by your side, unlike many surfing instructors who prefer to surf themselves. My priority is to ensure that your time is spent truly understanding and learning surfing rather than just struggling while I enjoy myself!

As a part of my teaching strategy, I assist beginners in catching waves where they can perfect their pop-up, offering feedback whenever necessary. After a few successful practice waves, I generally begin to offer less assistance, reducing my push into waves gradually.
