Perfect food, beautiful town, expert guide - I have done the Chester and Liverpool Food Tours, both were fabulous, so I had high expectations of the Shrewsbury Tour, especially since I didn’t know Shrewsbury at all. These high expectations were exceeded! From start to finish, Gareth led us expertly though the beautiful town, pointing out fascinating Architecture and tiny alleyways, with interesting and relevant snippets of history between the expertly-chosen food stops. I won’t comment on every one, just to say the food in all was delicious, with informative talks by the proprietors. It’s hard to choose a favourite, but Tanners Wine Merchants possibly wins because of the highly expert talk, the amazing building and the wine tasting in a lovely courtyard afterwards. But learning about Ice Cream making, and actually making a waffle cone, in Gelatistry was superb too… and Pierogi in The Shed… and…. all of them!! I loved the whole day, thank you Gareth!

a very happy and enjoyable afternoon - Gareth gave us a wonderful tour around Shrewsbury. We visited a variety of independent venues, eating a few lovely cheeses, some appetizing little dishes and enjoying delicious wines. We learnt about the history of this beautiful town and some of the famous people associated with it. Would definitely recommend this experience. Bob and Maria

Extremely enjoyable afternoon in Shrewsbury! - Attended the food walking tour with clients through work and what a brilliant afternoon it was. An excellent variety of different places to visit, eat and drink and as I'd never been to the centre of Shrewsbury the tour definitely gave me a good insight to the heritage. The tour guide was excellent too, informative, jovial and engaging.

Great day out with business clients - Great food, Gareth was very informative and friendly. Really enjoyed the wine tasting and the Gelato parts of the tour. It was inspiring listening to the founders of the Gelato shop, young women who have built a successful business.

Fantastic experience - This is the first time that we have done a food tour. We thought it would be a great addition to my husbands 40th Birthday celebrations. Gareth was an excellent host. It was such a good way to see different parts of the town and get an insight into some of the history. The venues picked were excellent, giving a unique insight into the both the food/drink and business. We will definitely do this again. Chester is next! Kathryn and Gareth

GREAT DAY OUT - Having previously done the Chester Walking Tour and enjoying it so much we decided to book the Shrewsbury Tour to celebrate my birthday. Booking and communication before the day was easy and everything was very well organised.Gareth is interesting knowledgeable and great fun, spending an afternoon in his company is very easy and comfortable. Our first stop was The Shed. The owners made us feel very welcome, we sampled pierogi and the best hot chocolate that we have probably ever had. From there we went to Shrewsbury Market passing places of interest between stops. The market was fabulous we were given mouthwatering samples from the deli counter at Wild Street Kitchen then we went upstairs to Gindifferent trying their different gins then choosing our favourite for our drink. A real unexpected highlight of our day was definitely the small tour of Tanners. We were shown around and given tasters with a cheese board by the delightful Tom, this really was a great addition to the day. The day was completed with an ice cream at Gelatistry, we had the opportunity to make our own cone and chose an ice cream from their fabulous selection. Perfect end to a perfect day. It was a great day that we would highly recommend to anyone, so a big thank you from us all to Gareth and we will look forward to trying the Liverpool and Wrexham tours in the future.

Shrewsbury Food and Drink Tour - Easter 2024 - We did the Shrewsbury food and drink tour on Good Friday and really enjoyed it. Our tour guide, Gareth, made all the difference as he's a really great guy and obviously loves what he is doing. Gareth picked out 5 places for us to eat and they were all fantastic (The Shed, PONT, Wild Street Kitchen, STOP Cafe and Gelatistry). He asked us to rank them in order of what we enjoyed the most and it was almost impossible. There's a food festival in Shresbury in June and we're definetely going to visit that and revisit the places from the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, if you like walking, food, drink and good company. It's a great way to spend an afternoon. On a final note, how can scotch eggs, sausage rolls and custard tarts be that good?

Great day - Very pretty to walk around, nice coffee shops. Plenty of restaurants of all kinds of food. Car parking wasn't too bad, disabled parking was free where we parked so a bonus!
