Highlights

Airport Pickup on arrival – transfer to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala

Kampala - Our guide and driver will be waiting to receive you at the airport in Entebbe with your name on a card. Depending on your arrival time, you will be transferred to a hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. If time permits or if you arrive early in the day, you could have a tour of Entebbe or Kampala.

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – track Rhinos at the Ziwa sanctuary

Murchison Falls National Park - You will set off early after breakfast for Murchison Falls national park. Along the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary just before the Murchison Falls National Park. The sanctuary was established to save Uganda’s last Rhinos. Rhinos do not roam freely in Uganda’s parks due to prolonged and uncontrolled poaching. Once their numbers increase, there is a plan to reintroduce them to Uganda’s major national parks. Rhino tracking is the main activity but you can also go on a boat ride or spot crocodiles, birds and small primates. After touring the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will have lunch at Amuka lodge before proceeding to Murchison falls national park. Once you reach the park, you will drive to the top of the falls and experience the amazing sights and sounds of the roaring river Nile.

Early morning Game drive and a boat cruise - murchison falls np

Murchison Falls National Park - You will wake up early to take your breakfast and be driven to the southern banks of the river Nile. This morning drive will provide you with opportunities to spot four of the big five – Lions, buffaloes, Leopards and Elephants. You will also see Hyena, Bush-bucks, Jackals, the Uganda Kob and the Hartebeest among many other great creatures. You will head back to the lodge for lunch, rest and then go for the launch cruise at the bottom of the falls. As you pass by the river banks, look out for one of the world’s largest concentration of hippos and crocodiles. Bird watching is a great activity here with some rare species like the Saddle-billed Stork, African Skimmer, shoe-bill stork, Grey-crowned Crane, Goliath Heron, Black-headed Gonolek and the Fish Eagle and Long-toed Plover among many others.

Transfer to Kibale National Park – Visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary

Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary - You should rise up early to take your breakfast as you wait to start the long journey to Kibale National Park. Our guide/driver will start the journey from Murchison Falls national park to Kibale National park using a different route. Use this time to admire Uganda’s beautiful countryside, changing landscape, small towns, lakes, rivers, forest and the local people working in their gardens. You will stop along the way for lunch and reach Kibale forest in the afternoon. After checking in to your hotel, you will head out to visit the Bigodi Wetlands sanctuary for a chance to see primates, birds and visit the local community.

Chimpanzee tracking at Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Kibale National Park - You will wake up to take a quick cup of coffee, then head for the Kibale national park headquarters for adventure briefing. The briefing is basically about what you should expect during your chimpanzee tracking adventure, what to bring with you and how to behave once you spot the chimpanzee. Chimp trekking usually takes between 3 to 5 hours. It is a different experience from gorilla trekking because the chimps spend more time on top of all trees. Chimpanzee tracking is also more demanding physically. Whereas it is easy to find them, you need to move faster to keep up with them. After spending an hour with the chimps, you will head back to your lodge for lunch and rest before embarking on a 2 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Game drive and boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel

Kazinga Channel - After resting early yesterday, you should wake looking forward to today’s interesting activities. Our diver will pick you up after breakfast for an early morning game drive. The game is done very early in the morning to allow you see some of the nocturnal animals going back to their dens after a night of hunting. Expect to see the big cats and birds waking up from their sleep. As the day proceeds, you should see hippos, buffaloes, lions, hartebeests and a great collection of birds. Afterwards return for lunch and rest at the lodge. At 2.00pm, you will go for the boat cruise at the Kazinga channel. The channel connects Lake George to Lake Edward and attracts most of the park animals especially during the dry season. Watch as predators and prey come for a drink or marvel the amazing bird collection.

Visit to Lake Bunyonyi – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest Park

Lake Bunyonyi - After the previous day’s activities, it’s time to spend the whole day relaxing and exploring one of Africa’s most naturally beautiful places – Lake Bunyonyi. The lake has about 29 islands allowing visitors tour some of them. Nature has blessed the area with a beautiful green environment and romantic beaches which you can explore using a boat. If you love birds, you will be amazed by the sheer abundance of different species. If birding is not your thing, you can just spend time lazing around the beach as you watch the local people row their boats or catch fish. Lake Bunyonyi is an excellent place for relaxation after or in the middle of a long safari in Uganda. After spending time at the lake, the driver will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable forest park to prepare for gorilla trekking.

Mountain gorilla trekking at Bwindi – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park Rwanda

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - You will wake up very early, take breakfast and be taken to the park offices for registration and briefing. The briefing covers information about the park, what to expect and the gorilla groups in Bwindi. Gorilla groups are allocated based on level of fitness, preference and age. One done with the briefing, you will be offered a hiking stick and led into the forest to locate the primates. Gorilla tracking is an interesting and adventurous activity. It takes you through dense forest, shrub, muddy areas before suddenly finding the gorilla group. Take as many photos as you can as you will only be with the family for one hour. You will then be offered a certificate of participation before being driven back to the lodge for lunch and rest. After resting and checking out, you should prepare late afternoon journey to the Volcanoes National park in Rwanda.

Second Gorilla Trekking at the Volcanoes national park – Visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village

Volcanoes National Park - Briefing for gorilla trekking at the Volcanoes national park starts at around 7:00am. We encourage you to wake up very early and take breakfast as you wait to be picked up by the Guide. There are about 10 gorilla families in Rwanda. The allocation of gorilla groups is based on overall fitness of participants. While in the forest tracking mountain gorillas, always listen and follow instructions given by your guides. Do not make sudden movements and only take photos when you are cleared to do so. After gorilla tracking in Rwanda, you will head back to the starting point where you will find our Guide waiting to take you back to the lodge for lunch and rest. Later in the afternoon, the Guide will take you to visit the Gorilla Guardians Village. This center showcases the cultural heritage of the Banyarwanda. It’s a well-organized center and tourists do not just sit and watch. They are invited to participate in the presentations and are allowed to dress in the local costumes to take photos.

Golden monkey tracking – Kigali City tour – Departure

Kigali Genocide Memorial - Wake up early and take breakfast before going for another briefing for golden monkey tracking. Golden monkeys are very cute primates but endangered. They are very playful and move in large troops. Gold coats make them very distinct from all other primates in the park. As you track them, expect to spot the other primates along the trails. Afterwards, our guide will take you back to the hotel for checkout before starting the journey to Kigali. The journey will take 3 hours but you will be amazed by the beautiful rolling hills, green scenery and tea plantations in Rwanda – Rwanda is indeed a land of a thousand hills. Lunch will be along the way. Once you reach Kigali, you will be taken for a tour of the neat and organized Kigali city. This visit involves visiting the genocide war memorial centers. Afterwards, you will be dropped off at the airport or a hotel in Kigali.

End of Tour.

Arrival and Transfer to Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park - A Scb Tours and Travel guide will pick you up at 7:30am from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and drive along Mombasa Road past the Athi Plains. In three to five hours, you will be in Amboseli. Upon your arrival, have lunch, a short rest, and then proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp.

Game Drive in Amboseli National Park and Transfer to Lake Nakuru

Amboseli National Park - You will have an early breakfast, then depart for a full day game drive with lunch boxes. You can see Mount Kilimanjaro clearly when the clouds are clear and the sun is rising. Game drive across the park until 4:00pm, then check out of the park and drive to Lake Nakuru.

Lake Nakuru Experience

Lake Nakuru National Park - You will have an early morning pick-up, then drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive will take you across the equator, where the Rift Valley’s most famous lake, Lake Nakuru, lies south of Bogoria. Lake Nakuru is known all over the world for its flamingoes. It is alkaline and recognized as one of the world’s natural wonders. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos. But the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times, almost 2 million flamingos may be in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore.

You will arrive in time for lunch, then have an afternoon game drive.

Later, transfer to Masai Mara.

Masai Mara Game Drive

Maasai Mara National Reserve - You will have an early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. The Masai Mara is one of the few places on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. You will arrive in time for lunch and then have an afternoon game drive.

Second Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

Masai Mara National Reserve - After breakfast, we will have a full day game drive, with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife, and it is not impossible to see the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under one’s vehicle and climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey. For the bird enthusiast, almost 500 species have been recorded: among these, 16 species of eagle, many hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four bustards (including the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and nine species of sunbirds.

Masai Cultural Experience and Transfer to Seregenti

Masai Mara National Reserve - On this day, you will transfer from Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park (through the Isebania border). A community tour with the Masai people is scheduled for today. The transfer to Serengeti takes almost the whole day. Still, you will also be doing a game drive during a significant part of the journey (in the morning in Masai Mara and in the afternoon in the Serengeti).

You will enjoy the afternoon game drive en route to your tented camp.

Serengenti National Park

Serengeti National Park - The famous Serengeti National Park is home to the great migration. The game drive is spectacular as you drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim. Continuing, spreading out in front of you is the vast Serengeti. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili. This 18,000sq km (6,900sq mi) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax or monkeys and nearly 500 species of birds inhabit the area. You have the opportunity to visit Oldupai Gorge and enjoy a hot air balloon ride.

After breakfast the following day, you will have a full day in Serengeti National Park (morning and afternoon game drives).

Serengeti and Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Very early in the morning, you will descend to the crater floor for a day of wildlife viewing in one of the most incredible places on earth. After a stop for a picnic lunch near the hippo lake and more wildlife viewing in the afternoon, drive up the steep road out of the crater. You will then transfer to Manyara for your overnight stay. You can also visit Tarangire instead of Manyara, and we recommend Tarangire from June to September.

There is the possibility of visiting Oldonyo Sambu Maasai Village on the way to Manyara/Tarangire.

Lake Manyara National Park and Transfer to Tarangire National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - You will depart after breakfast and drive across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. This enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant fig and mahogany trees, home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. It is also renowned for its stunning bird variety. The park is also home to a large number of buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas and a hippo lake, where large numbers of hippos usually gather. This park has become famous for the tree-climbing lions and the flamingos on the lakeshore. The game drives are done along the shore of the lake, providing incredible views of animals in the foreground with the lake, flamingos and flat plains on the horizon. Later, depart for Tarangire National Park.

Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Tarangire. Tanzania is the third-largest national park and a sanctuary for an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting park feature, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs and up to 6,000 elephants. Enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch.

Transfer to Zanzibar

Stone Town - Transfer from Tarangire National Park to Stone Town. Here, you will spend your first night recovering from your trip. The accommodation is a boutique hotel in a beautiful and characteristic building in the heart of the old centre of Stone Town, with many restaurants in the area for lunch and dinner.

Zanzibar Island Relaxation

Zanzibar City - ou can rest and enjoy this paradise made of beautiful beaches of white sand and turquoise water of the Indian Ocean.

Extra activities are possible, such as a day tour in Stone Town (includes an Old Town guided tour, Spice Tour and tour to Prison Island—lunch is not included) or a half day tour (includes Old Town guided tour or Spice Tour or Prison Island).

Another suggestion is the Jozani Forest tour (lunch is not included).

Rest and Relaxation in Zanzibar

Zanzibar Island - You can spend the day at your leisure, enjoying all the wonderful resort facilities—spa, massage, poolside sunbathing, or a dip in the ocean. For the more adventurous traveller, you may wish to indulge in a diving experience or head off on one of the many day tours available

Amazing gorilla tracking experience thanks to SCB - SCB Tours really made our trip and ensured the best possible gorilla tracking experience my friend and I could have wished for. Solomons communication was great on the weeks leading up to our trip and was always on hand to answer any questions and provided great advice which helped us In Further planning our journey around East Africa. Solomon handled everything efficiently including the crossing of the boarder from rwanda to uganda, took us tracking and then made sure we reached our next destination Entebbe safely and on time. Big thanks to everybody at SCB Tours including Moses who was our amazing driver.

A tour I will never forget - Where do I even start. My guide and driver (Solomon and Abraham) were some of the best people I've met in my life. They really made my life long dream of visiting Africa the most memorable and magical experience imaginable. By the end of my 10 day tour with them it didn't feel like a tour but more like really good friends experiencing all that Uganda and Rwanda had to offer. While providing the best service and fulfilling any needs that I had. When I my first met them, they were extremely professional and by the book, but as they observed my interests and personality they catered their service to fit my interests and made the journey personalized to me. Which, I think, really sets them apart from other tour companies. They showed me all the beautiful culture and lifestyle of their home land and every moment was a moment to remember. Watching the sunrise in the Ugandan savannah while hyenas walk by, pulling up a few meters beside a family of African Elephants, watching the babies learn to use their trunks, having a baby mountain gorilla try to pound its chest at you and lose balance, watch hippos fight on the Kazinga channel, a mother lion cleaning its cubs, hearing an entire forest begin howling as chimps scream from the forest floor and tree tops, and watching the sunset at Murchison falls and other beautiful moments like that were memories made to last forever. Solomon and Abraham weren't there to fill out a simple checklist of activities, but really made each of those activities so special and turned it into a real experience. They did everything in their power to make my experience, the best experience possible. For the price I paid, the accommodations and food were amazing. Of course it wasn't a luxury package but I couldn't have asked for better amenities given the price I paid. I will remember this trip for the rest of my life, and those 2 gentlemen made that happen for me. Will recommend SCB Tours and Travel to everyone I know travelling to Uganda and surrounding countries.

CAUTION! My friend and I got scammed by SCB Tours and Travel, lost Money and where forced to pay extra during trip! - CAUTION! We cannot recommend SCB Tours and Travel under any circumstances, as we were severely scammed and coerced, leading to the cancellation of our safari. We are now left with over €800 in additional costs and were almost forced to pay another €900 on top. Allegedly, no one had ever encountered problems before, and we truly hope this is the case, because we wouldn't wish what happened to us on anyone. Here's our entire story (German translation can be found below/ Deutsche Bewertung weiter unten). First I would like to say, for the first days of the trip I would have given 5 stars because it was amazing – but what happened afterwards was one of the worst things that could happen. Due to the attractive offer from SCB Tours and Travel, we decided to choose them, as the price seemed relatively affordable. We inquired multiple times to confirm that everything was truly included, and we were assured that chimpanzee and gorilla trekking, transportation, meals, non-alcoholic beverages, entrance fees, etc., were all completely included. After accepting the offer and making the initial payment, we were informed that taxes were not accounted for. Allegedly, the offer was created by an IT employee who wasn't authorized to do so. Despite the deposit being made, we were told that no further charges would be applied due to goodwill. Just a few days into our trip, Solomon began blaming us for the high costs, asserting that we should have known that the taxes were not included. (We still wonder how we were supposed to know this, as when presented with an offer explicitly stating that everything is included for a specific price, we assume everything is indeed included. Unfortunately, our knowledge doesn't extend to Ugandan tax law.) We were also repeatedly blamed for the expenses of our vegetarian diet, and even when we ordered an additional pot of tea in a cold location, we were again reprimanded for how expensive everything was. The situation escalated the day before our gorilla trekking, and we were essentially coerced into either paying for our accommodation here because the funds were depleted, or optionally, paying for entrance fees to the next parks since the money was simply not enough. Solomon cited reasons like accommodations demanding double the agreed amount, among others. However, this is also something beyond our control, and being in the off-season, we could have easily chosen alternative accommodations. With the agreement that if we paid for our accommodation before the gorilla trekking, we could continue the trip without further discussions, we paid for the accommodation ourselves. However, in the preceding days, we had already paid for some of our meals (which were supposed to be included in the offer) out of pocket. After the gorilla trekking, during our journey, we were suddenly stopped in a small town and more or less coerced into paying an additional $900, as we were told the trip couldn't be financed otherwise. Feeling uneasy about the situation and considering $900 to be a significant amount, we decided to terminate the trip. We also had to cover the fuel cost to return home, as we wouldn't have been able to make it back to Kampala otherwise and would have been stranded in the middle of nowhere. The fact that we were stopped on the roadside and almost forced by Solomon to pay an additional $900 to continue the trip amounts to coercion and is illegal. In Kampala itself, we incurred many extra costs as we had to independently cover accommodation, food, and drinks, which were supposed to be included. Since April, we've made regular attempts to receive a response, all in vain. Whenever we contacted Solomon recently, he shifted the blame and came up with various excuses. He has written that he will send us the $500, but we still haven't received a response regarding when this will happen. Consequently, we cannot recommend SCB Tours and Travel under any circumstances and hope that no one else gets scammed like we did – this will forever be our impression of Uganda. Screenshots are available in the images, unless they are deleted. Our trip started on March 6 and had to be prematurely terminated on March 18. Since the end of the trip, we have made multiple attempts to get answers, at least regarding WHEN we will finally receive the money. We were only ever blamed for everything, Solomon even started playing mind games at times. Among other things, he told us that he hadn't even eaten because of us for a long time, and asked if we wanted him to kill himself because of us. In the end, he told us that he has a million-dollar business and he doesn't even care about SCB Tours and Travel because he doesn't need the money. Well, we are still stuck with our extra costs to this day, and most likely forever. In conclusion, all things come back in life, or as Solomon said in his last message to us: "God (...) knows the truth and he will judge us all." VORSICHT!
