Day 1: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 1: Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, embark on a drive to Lake Bunyonyi, situated on the eastern side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The guide will make stops at the Equator for photographs and in Mbarara town for lunch. The journey continues past banana plantations, farms, and the picturesque hills of Kigezi, leading to an overnight stay at Broad Bill Forest Camp or Crater Bay Cottages in Kabale town.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
Following an early morning breakfast, the guide will drive to Ruhija Park headquarters for a briefing and to join others for gorilla trekking. The trek can last from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location that day. Upon finding them, there will be an hour for observation and photography before returning to the park headquarters for a certificate and an overnight stay at Broad Bill Forest Camp or Crater Bay Cottages at Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda, arriving in time for lunch at Buffalo Safari Resort. After a short relaxation, enjoy an evening game drive in the savannah plains of Kasenyi, where wildlife such as buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, and possibly lions and leopards can be spotted. Return to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
This morning, return to the plains of Kasenyi for a game drive to spot any wildlife missed the previous day. Lunch will be served at the lodge, followed by an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This cruise offers opportunities to see hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, and other wildlife that gather at the channel for water.
Day 5: Return to Kampala/Entebbe or Airport
After breakfast, drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for the next flight.

On a good day, the boat trip offers the opportunity to witness more wildlife species than you would during a standard game drive. Over 600 species of birds have been reported here. The safari will then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you can track habituated mountain gorilla families for an unforgettable experience. This explorer excursion begins and concludes at Entebbe International Airport.
