Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After a leisurely breakfast, our Driver guide will pick you up from the lodge for a road trip to western Uganda, heading towards the Gorilla haven of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This journey takes approximately 10 hours, including a lunch stop en route. Despite the long drive, you’ll pass through diverse landscapes such as tropical rainforests, savannah fields, and the terraced hills of Kigezi, often referred to as the Switzerland of East Africa. Upon arrival, you’ll check into the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay in preparation for the next day’s adventure.
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation
Lake Bunyonyi - Start your day with an early breakfast before driving to the park headquarters for a briefing by Bwindi National Park rangers. You’ll be assigned a gorilla family to track. This once-in-a-lifetime experience allows you to observe mountain gorillas as they go about their daily activities, such as feeding, playing, and grooming. The gorilla trekking can last between 2 to 8 hours, with one hour spent in the presence of the gorillas. After the trek, you can visit the Batwa People, the original forest inhabitants, for a cultural tour. Later, you’ll transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for a luxurious relaxation experience. Lake Bunyonyi, meaning “place of small birds,” is Africa’s second deepest lake, featuring 29 islands, each with its own unique history.
Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Afternoon Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge
Kyambura Game Reserve (Kyambura Gorge) - After an early breakfast, you’ll journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park and head to Kyambura Gorge Forest, also known as the underground forest, for chimpanzee trekking. The stunning Kyambura Gorge, also called the “Valley of Apes,” is located in the eastern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park in southwestern Uganda. The landscape is among Uganda’s most impressive, teeming with a rich biodiversity of primates, wildlife, and birds. After the chimpanzee trekking, you’ll return to the lodge for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s safari adventure.
Safari Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Start your day early with a cup of coffee before heading out for a safari game drive in the Kasenyi Plains, where you may spot wildlife such as elephants, kobs, lions, and leopards. The game drive lasts 2 to 3 hours. In the afternoon, at 2 pm, you’ll embark on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a 40 km waterway connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. During the cruise, you may see elephants quenching their thirst, basking crocodiles, wallowing buffalos, numerous birds, and large concentrations of hippos.
