Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch - Our first stop will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in their natural environment. With the help of park rangers, we’ll go on a rhino tracking adventure for an hour or two before continuing our journey to Murchison Falls.
Masindi - Next, we’ll stop in Masindi town for lunch. This is also where Ernest Hemingway and his wife stayed in 1923 after their plane crashed near Murchison Falls. They were rescued unharmed by a boat taking tourists to the falls. We’ll arrive safely at Murchison Falls National Park in the evening and rest in a comfortable lodge.
Game drive in Murchison Falls National Park
Murchison Falls National Park - On the second day of your safari in Murchison Falls, you’ll start with a game drive after breakfast. You’ll explore one of the park’s well-known game viewing tracks: the Albert track, Buligi track, or Victoria track. The area around Nyamsika gorge and its cliffs is also rich in wildlife. You’ll see various animals, including four of the Big Five: lions, elephants, leopards, and cape buffaloes. After lunch, you’ll go on a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. The sight and sound of the rushing waterfalls are both soothing and breathtaking. As you sail upstream to the base of the falls, you’ll spot herds of hippos and crocodiles along the riverbanks.
Crossing Equator, game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - After an early breakfast at the lodge, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping at the Equator for a water experiment and at Igongo Cultural Center for lunch. Arrive at the park in the evening. Enjoy an evening game drive as you head to your accommodation at a comfortable lodge or safari tent.
Full day in Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park - Your safari continues with a game drive after an early breakfast. You’ll head to the famous Kasenyi plains with an experienced game ranger. The plains are a vast African savanna known for having the highest concentration of wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park. In addition to big game and predators, the plains are home to various species of wetland birds.
Chimpanzees trekking in Kibale National Park or village walks in the countryside
Kibale National Park - After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for Kibale National Park, home to the famous chimpanzees. We offer two options for this day, depending on your plans to visit Mgahinga National Park on another day or skip it:
First, transfer to the Kibale Park headquarters for a briefing before heading into the forest to search for chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You’ll get close to chimps and other primates like red-tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys, and more. The trek will allow you to see many primates, birds, and butterflies along forest-shaded trails.
Fort Portal - Alternatively, drive through Fort Portal, known as the “Tourism City of Uganda,” and have lunch en route. Driving through traditional homesteads and farms will let you enjoy the beautiful scenery of this part of the country. Upon arrival, you can opt for a village walk to learn about Uganda’s rich cultural heritage or simply relax and retire to your accommodation.
Gorillas trekking in Mgahinga National Park or Bigodi Swamp nature walk
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park - We offer two options for this day, depending on your plans to visit Mgahinga National Park or skip it:
First, drive to Mgahinga for gorilla trekking early in the morning. Trekking gorillas is one of the most thrilling wildlife experiences on earth. An experienced ranger will guide you and share interesting facts about the jungle’s flora and fauna and the gorillas’ lifestyle.
Transfer to Kampala. Check into a hotel.
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary - Alternatively, visit Bigodi Swamp for a nature walk. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, located in Magombe Swamp, is a fascinating area to explore. It is known for its rich biodiversity, including various primate species such as red colobus monkeys, black and white l’Hoest monkeys, colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, vervet monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons.
