Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your scheduled morning flight from Entebbe to Kisoro airstrip in Uganda’s South-Western region. Upon arrival at Kisoro, you will be greeted by the Agasaro driver guide and driven to Chameleon Hill Lodge, located on the shores of Lake Mutanda in the Bwindi Forest National Park area. The drive takes approximately 1 hour.

Bwindi National Park, situated in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, is regarded as Uganda’s most diverse forest. This area, one of the few large forest expanses in East Africa where lowland and mountain habitats converge, features a dense ground cover of herbs, vines, and shrubs. Home to over 120 mammals, 345 bird species, 200 butterfly species, and 160 tree species, Bwindi is one of East Africa’s richest ecosystems. The park hosts nearly half of the world’s endangered Mountain Gorilla population, making it a crucial conservation site.

Kisoro to Kabale Rushaga

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - After breakfast at the lodge, travel to the National Park Headquarters, approximately 1-1.5 hours away, to meet your guides for the day and commence your gorilla tracking adventure. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your group on an early morning trek into the dense rainforest on the mountain slopes.

The journey through thick foliage and steep climbs is richly rewarded with the unforgettable experience of observing mountain gorillas in their natural environment. You will have the chance to be within meters of these magnificent apes, witnessing their daily lives and activities. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare, with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. This is an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime!
