Herculaneum, a city named after the Roman mythological figure Hercules, was obliterated by the 79AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius. A leisurely stroll through Ercolano exposes the signs of civilization moulded into this remote location. Sandwiched under the same eruption that covered Pompeii, it stands today as an impressive historical landmark abundant in historical riches and captivating vistas. The city features exceptional ruins, artefacts, and unique imprints from its unfortunate inhabitants who didn’t escape the eruption.
