Great insights into a fascinating place - Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the AD 79 eruption of Mt. Vesuvius that buried Pompeii and Herculaneum. The latter has been of particular interest to me and it was a dream come true to tour the excavated portions of the city with Luciano Leone via ASKOS Tours. The ancient beach, only recently made accessible to the general public, was a special and solemn thrill to see. Dr. Leone was engaging and highly knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend him for any visitor, both those who are new to Herculaneum and those who have studied it prior to the tour. Whatever your level of knowledge, you’ll gain new insights and walk away sharing Dr. Leone’s fascination with this incredible place.

Great Luciano! - I write this review months later (mea culpa) about the visit of Herculaneum, and especially about the great Luciano Leone. Thanks to his presence, Herculaneum, still shines as in antiquity. It moved me and involved me in a way that maybe never happened to me. I'd come back just to hear him talk!

How every guided tour should be. - Excellent guide. Well structured tour. All aspects are explained in a broader context. Lots of background information. Eye for detail. Comparisons are made with Pompei.

Great tour. Highly recommend. - My tour with Sara was excellent. I highly recommend this offer. My professor/guide, Sara had a deep knowledge of the site. I have some knowledge of late Roman history but less of the early period. She was able to explain the site to me at the high level and basic level. Excellent experience. If you visit in summer take the early tour as I did. By noon it is very hot. Great experience. Five stars.

Great archeological tour with the best guide, Luciano! - Our Herculaneum tour was one of the best parts of our trip, thanks to our amazing and knowledgeable tour guide, Dr. Luciano Leone. We love historical tours and he's the best guide we've ever had. Luciano made the tour educational, exciting, and fun - we felt like we went back into history. We'd highly recommend Luciano for anyone visiting Herculaneum or Pompeii -- he was the highlight of our tour and we left with a deeper appreciation of the place and history. Luciano Leone, fantastic guide - Luciano Leone delivered the best guided tour I have ever experienced. With his energy and enthusiasm, he literally captivated our group of international friends. The connections he made between past history and nowadays were very clear and easy to understand.

Great tour, relaxed and really informative - We received the contact details for our guide as planned, which was good, as due to a train delay we were late arriving. The guide was very understanding and waited. The tour itself was just what I wanted. We got a good insight into Herculaneum, its origins and some of the more important areas. All the time the information was at a really good level, detailed but maintained our interest! Giulia’s expertise was apparent and her English was excellent. I would definitely recommend.
