Askos Tour of Herculaneum - We toured Herculaneum with Askos Tours. Our tour guide was Luciano Leone. He was really knowledgeable about the archaeology and the detail of the tragedy that befell Herculaneum.

A great day trip from Rome. Would definitely recommend. - We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would definitely recommend it. Luciano is an incredibly knowledgable and engaging guide with real passion for the site and its history. Through his interpretation of the site and many stories and illustrations, he painted a vivid and fascinating picture of life in Ercolano in Roman times. And we really enjoyed his sense of humour! This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Italy.

Highly recommended! - This was our first history tour on our trip to Italy and it was the best! Luciano is very knowledgeable and was able to present the information in a digestible and fun format. I loved the visuals he had with him. I was an archeology need as a kid and this tour hit the spot!

A great site made better by seeing it with Luciano - Cannot speak highly enough of the experience or of our guide Luciano Leone. Herculaneum is a great introduction to Roman life and of the impact of the eruption. Small enough to walk around in a couple of hours, diverse enough to show life at the time and rich enough in archeological interest. Luciano was terrific. We were fortunate enough to be a small group on a sunny day. He talked for almost the whole time ( but not intrusively) introducing us to what we were seeing and how it fitted into history. His 35 years experience and his unbounded passion showed through. I loved his sense of fun his warm nature and his Italian lilt. Don’t miss the red and yellow museums near the entrance.
