Your exploration of the archaeological locations will be under your full control, enhancing your freedom to roam the ruins according to your preference. It’s important to reserve your tickets for Vesuvius ahead of time as they are in high demand. Suggested ticket time: 11:00pm.
Entrance tickets for Pompeii and Herculaneum can be purchased at the location itself.
Please note that the tour ticket does not cover the archaeological site entry fees.
Extra services such as guide services and audio guides inside the archaeological sites can be arranged upon request to cater to your complete leisure autonomy, whether you prefer solo expeditions through the ruins or want to supplement your trip with a guided tour.
- Please note: Vesuvius tickets sell out quickly. Is recommended to buy them on “vivaticket” once booked the tour. Is recommended the ticket entrance time at 11:00pm to avoid errors of choice of entrance at an inconsistent time with travel time.

Mt Vesuvius Herculaneum Pompeii - We booked a car and driver to take us from cruise terminal to the archeological sites and up to mt Vesuvius. We were unable to navigate the website to make the purchase for timed entry tickets to go up to Mt Vesuvius. Our driver knew how to obtain the tickets and showed up with two tickets for us to get in he timed everything perfectly and delivered us back to the ship on time. He was very friendly knowledgeable and spoke great English. Would and will recommend Luca to anyone we know visiting the area. He was great!

Great day - Caesar was a wonderful driver and we had a great day. He was knowledgeable of the areas and points of interest. Some reviews complain that it is just a taxi as you pay into Herculaneum and Pompeii however it is much cheaper than a €65 can one way and more enjoyment

Hike a volcano & tour ancient Pompeii. Dolly and Daniela took amazing care of us on this day trip from Naples. Excellent - We took a day trip out of Naples to tour Herculaneum, Mt. Vesuvius, and Pompeii. We rented audio tours at Herculaneum and they were not great. It was hard to find our way around because the place is NOT in numerical order and you can hardly hear the audio. We felt like we wasted our time. We reported this to Dolly, our guide, and Daniela, our driver. They found a personal guide for the 8 of us prior to our visit of Pompeii. So much better!!! Our guide, Rosella, was fabulous!!! In between those tours, we hiked beautiful Mt. Vesuvius, luckily between cloudbursts. It was an amazing view of Naples and the crater! Dolly, Daniela, and Rosella made our day. I’d recommend them to my family and friends. Wish we had met Rosella for our Herculaneum tour, too.

Private day trip to Herculaneum, etc - We booked this tour with Di Sarno Car Services through TripAdvisor. Although this tour is designed to operate from Naples the company agreed that they would pick us up from Sorrento. I would advise to check with them first.
The driver, Giovanni, arrived on time and spoke good English.
He was excellent throughout the tour and modified it to suit our requirements. Nothing was a problem for him.
We would certainly use them again if we return to this stunning part of Italy.

Highly Recommend Again & Again! - What a great relief to have selected this tour! Visiting Pompeii has been on my son’s bucket list for 5+ years! Then as we were planning our trip to Italy he commented he’d also like to go to Mt Vesuvius. Hiring a driver seemed the best way to go. Salvatore was assigned our trip and he was fantastic! A great communicator. He gave us historical information on the drives. He gave us prompt instructions for meeting times and locations for when we were done self-touring the diff stops of Pompeii, Mt Vesuvius and Herculaneum. Best of all (for me!) is he gave an amazing recommendation for a fantastic limoncello vendor and it DID NOT disappoint! It was EXACTLY what I’d hoped for so I could have some shipped back to the US. Herculaneum is much smaller- easy to do in about 1.5-2hr. Mt Vesuvius took about 25min climb to top from the top lot drop off point. Maybe a little further if you walk all the way to end point around the crater. So 1.5hr was fine for us. Our only wish was that we’d chosen to spend more time in Pompeii. We had no idea how big it was!! Our ticket entrance time to Mt Vesuvius was 1:30, which allowed us more time in Pompeii than expected (and so very needed!). The only suggestion I’d have is for us to be given some recommendations of which stops have the casts, otherwise we almost missed it. However, I don’t dock the company for this bc we didn’t hire a tour guide, we hired a driver and Salvatore was great! Easy to understand. Very accommodating. Had cold waters ready for us in an air-conditioned van. Took us to the top lot for drop off on the mtn. Gave a great recommendation for sandwiches since we wanted to have take away to spend more time at locations. Oh! And communication with the tour company was very helpful and with prompt replies leading up to our trip - guiding me where to purchase entry tickets in advance! Would highly recommend again and again to use this company!

Book the tour!! - We had the BEST day with Cesare! He didn't just drive us to the sites, he gave us color and historical background. He also gave us very good guidance on how to best work our way through the sites.

Fantastic 3 tours. So much enjoyed it. - Giovanni our driver was very courteous and made sure we had plenty of time to do and see the things we wanted. He got us back to the ship in plenty of time. If we come back we would most definitely ask for him again!

Fabulous driver! - Giovanni was terrific. Good English, knowledgeable, and flexible. He gave us great information and helped us find great guide at the last minute at Pompeii (Daniel). Made a long, exciting day relaxing and doable. The van was super comfortable for four people and clean.

A good way to get a snapshot of three amazing places in one day - The tour incorporates three awesome sites. Antonio was a very competent and careful driver, a bit of a rarity in Naples. He also took us to a very good pizza restaurant on the slopes of Vesuvius for lunch. We had 90 minutes each for Herculaneum and Vesuvius and two hours at Pompeii. It’s a very full day and yet we barely scratched the surface, especially at Pompeii, which could fill a full day, at least, on its own. However, our time was limited so this fitted well with our schedule
