Tidy, ordered and modern, it feels more like Switzerland relocated to the Middle Atlas Mountains than North Africa.\n\nAzrou Cedar Forest - Next, we will make a stop in the cedar forest of Azrou, inhabited by friendly macaque monkeys, eagerly waiting along the roadside for passengers to feed them.\n\nMidelt - Arriving in Midelt and have a 45 minute break for lunch in a local restaurant with many options to taste delicious Moroccan food.\n\nErrachidia - Continuing south, you will start to notice dramatic changes in the landscape, from mountainous and green to rocky and dry.\nBefore the town of Errachidia, we will stop at a viewing point to enjoy the panoramic view of a long-stretching oasis of palm trees. \n\nMerzouga - Arriving in Merzouga, you will hop on your camel for a 45 minute journey through golden towering dunes to your desert camp.\nOnce you arrive at the camp, you can hike up one of the dunes to witness the magical sunset.\nAfter dinner served and followed by a live drum show.\n\n### Desert Tour: Merzouga to Marrakech or back to Fez\n\nMerzouga - An early wake-up to watch the dreamiest sunrise. \nRide your camel back to a hotel on the edge of the sand dunes for breakfast and a shower. and then depart for Marrakech or back to Fez\n\nMarrakech - Depart either to Marrakech via Ouarzazate or back to Fez

Colors, smells and culture - A big thank you for this unforgettable stay. A very good organization. A big favorite for Ismail our driver, full of humor, a great open mind and a very great culture. We learned so much from him and had a great time. Azzdinn is very caring and caring.

Thumbs up to our wonderful driver, Louzi. He made the journey to the desert so very enjoyable - Wow! First and foremost our driver, Louzi, was the best ever. He is an excellent driver. He got us there from Fes fast but safely. He stopped for all kinds of photo opportunities, was accommodating and found us places to eat that served the best food. He is a friendly, happy and, importantly, kind, respectful human being. He drove us to and from the Merzouga and if I was to go again I would ask for him specifically. The desert itself was amazing. The camp was wonderful and the food delicious, especially the pasta salad. The only negative thing I have to say occurs at the camp. I like to tip and I tip well but when a specific tip amount was demanded it was a little off putting. A heads up would have been appreciated so a person can come prepared.

Fes to Marrakech - We travelled as a group of 4 from Fes to Merzouga to Marrakech with Berrada Travel booked through Viator. Mr Berrada responded promptly to WhatsApp messages and we were able to book extras such as airport pickup and a tour. Mr Berrada took us to a stall to buy a Morrocan sim and also organised a barrow man to guide us to our Riad. We are 3 Australians and one Frenchman and our driver Ismael communicated well and was an excellent driver. We were taken in a seven seater vehicle from Fes through breathtaking views of the Eastern High Atlas to Ifrane to feed some Macaques monkeys and onto Midelt for lunch. Ismael left us at Merzouga overnight. The camel ride was a great experience and we really enjoyed our encounter with the Sahara Desert, especially the sunset. We stayed at the Katrina Desert camp. Dinner was great and the musical performance was fun. The tent was good, the young staff were friendly and the beds were clean and comfortable. Next day after breakfast we were driven back to Merzouga to meet Ismael who drove us through the amazing landscape to Ouarzazate and onto Marrakech. We are older travellers and thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour. It is a long drive but we found the scenery to be amazing.

Special experience - Singular experience, recommended for those who love adventure and are capable of adapting. If you leave from Fes I highly recommend spending two nights in the camp to make the most of the experience, given the long journey that awaits you. The only sore point is that they will make you pay for water even during dinner and, in the morning at 5, if you don't intend to undertake the camel journey again, you will have to pay €10 each for the return by jeep. The sunrise over the dunes was spectacular anyway!

GOOD - Perfect outbound transport, the driver was perfect and the vehicle very good

On the other hand, the return was not great, we traveled in a crowded mini bus without air conditioning in the middle of August for almost 7 hours

Uncomfortable Experience with Guide - Was taken out to a sand dune alone to "see the stars" while one of the guides held and caressed my hand--was incredibly uncomfortable and felt unsafe. Another women on the tour was thrown off her camel and the person leading the camel didn't seem to be doing a good job handling the situation. Would not recommend

The worst stay of my life! - The drive was fine, camel ride interesting… the 2 breakfasts that were part of the package included only one breakfast and that was a serving of stale bread. Period!
The tent was filthy, beds stained, mattress ripped, NO sheets and NO towels ( they said it was that since Covid they stopped putting towels in the tents…which means that the same towel would have been used by many.
The electrical outlets weren’t functional, the switches filthy dirty and the blankets reeked of BO. We slept with all our clothes on as we didn’t want to risk touching anything more than we had to. I will be asking for a refund!

Fake tour in the desert - We are disappointed a lot because the tour was far far away as described in the email you sent us.
We had to travel in a mini van for maximum 7 persone, but we travel along with almost 20 person.
We had to stop more than two times in the places like the forest, the gurges, the oasis. We only saw some monkeys... and some places travelling almost no stop to the desert.
We had to stop in Midelt for lunch but we stopped somewhere in a place where we ate quite good but the guys wasn't prepared for almost 20 persons. And it was the only stop for the toilet.
After that we travelled until it remained 70 km to the desert in a place where we saw some camels.
Thanks God the desert trip on camels, the night, the desert and guys in the camp was so good, so nice that it saved the all trip.
And, last but not least, the day after we travelled alone with people that wasn't psrt of the trip, in a taxi, in the backseat, for almost 9 hours, and also here we had to thanks the driver that brought us in Marrakesh. He stopped three times so we could stretch ourselves and ate something.
Other people from the tour had to travel with other van or something and they also was disappointed. We had to travel all together back to Marrakech.
