- Luxor - At 7:00 am, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Luxor by a licensed tour guide. You’ll then be driven in a private air-conditioned vehicle to the West Bank of the Nile to visit Medinat Habu. This archaeological site is located near the Theban Hills, opposite modern Luxor, Egypt. While there are other structures in the area, Medinat Habu is primarily known for the Mortuary Temple of Ramesses III. This temple, approximately 150 meters long, follows a traditional design similar to the mortuary temple of Ramesses II (the Ramesseum). You’ll also have the opportunity to explore other temples within the Habu Temple complex, such as the Temple of Amun, which dates back to the 18th Dynasty and was built by Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose III. Over the years, it has seen many alterations and modifications, particularly during the 20th, 25th, 26th, 29th, and 30th Dynasties, as well as the Greco-Roman period.
- Valley of the Artisans (Deir el-Medina) - Continue your tour with a visit to Deir el-Medina, also known as the Valley of the Workers. This ancient Egyptian village was home to the artisans who worked on the tombs in the Valley of the Kings during the 18th to 20th Dynasties of the New Kingdom period (circa 1550–1080 BC). The paintings here remain remarkably well-preserved.
- Valley of the Queens - Conclude your tour with a visit to the Valley of the Queens, where the wives of Pharaohs were buried in ancient times. Known in antiquity as Ta-Set-Neferu, meaning “the place of the Children of the Pharaoh,” this site also contains the tombs of many princes, princesses, and other nobility from the 18th, 19th, and 20th Dynasties (1550–1070 BCE). Mortuary priests maintained these tombs, performing daily rituals and offering prayers for the deceased. The Valley of the Queens is located near the more famous Valley of the Kings, on the west bank of the Nile across from Thebes (modern Luxor). This secluded area in the western hills was chosen for its isolation and proximity to the capital.
After the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
