Additional Information

Often hailed as the pearl of the Atlantic, Essaouira, a picturesque city located 170 km north of Agadir, has been known since the 14th century by another name, Mogador. This city, fondly referred to as the city of the winds, is guarded by ancient ramparts. The delightful white Medina, decorated with blue doors and windows, enjoys the honor of being a World Heritage Site, as per UNESCO. The renowned Paul Claudel once said, ‘’I know of only one tower where I’d wish to be locked up indefinitely, even meet death there rather than surrender the keys- that’s MOGADOR IN AFRICA.’’

Known to inspire numerous global artists and filmmakers, Essaouira serves as a frequently chosen film location. Notably, Orson Welles’ 1952 feature film, Othello, was the first foreign movie to be filmed in Essaouira.

Bouch was THE BEST - Bouch was amazing. We had him all day and we had a tight schedule. He took great care of us and got us back to the ship on time. I would use him again. He was perfect. Camel ride. City tour. Lunch. Affordable. Perfect.

Fantastic trip! - Mohammed was a great guide and tailored the day trip to our wishes. Argon oil cooperative was interesting and Essaouria was beautiful. It’s a working fishing port so don’t expect it to always look like the pictures. Great to see the mountain villages and Moroccan life on the way through.

What a Brilliant Day - From the very moment Mohammed picked us up from the Riu Tikida Dunas on Monday 9th October we could tell we were going to have a great time. As a driver he was brilliant and as a Tour Guide he was amazing. With a little help from Google Translator he managed to tell us everything about Morocco he could think of. He took us to some great sites on the way to Essouria and finished the trip at the Kasbah in Agadir. What a trip and I would personally recommend Mohammed as a driver.

What a brilliant day. - From the moment our driver Mohammed, picked us up from the RIU Tikida Dunas at exactly 8.15am to dropping us off at 20:15 pm he was amazing. Although he struggled with English and my French was limited he provided us with so much info. He made countless unscheduled stops to show us things of interest and made sure we had the best day possible. Wonderful trip just loved Essaouira all made special by a brilliant driver and guide.

Excellent day out to Essaouira - We’ve just had a great full day trip from Agadir to Essaouira with our driver and guide, Rachid. He was extremely courteous, a skilful, careful driver, and a knowledgeable guide. He looked after us well, ensuring our safety and security at all times. This tour takes you through beautiful, rugged countryside and you get a real insight into rural life. Rachid included a visit to a women’s Cooperative producing Argan products. Fascinating. Essaouira itself is a very interesting town and we enjoyed wandering around for an hour or two after an excellent fish lunch overlooking the ocean. There’s plenty to see, lovely buildings and a lively atmosphere in the Médina. We really appreciate Rachid’s efforts - he gave us a great day out !

Great Trip - We had a lovely trip to Essouria with Rashid as our guide. He picked us up in a saloon and drove us to Essouria stopping by a surfing beach to take photos and then to a services for a refreshment break. The car battery died but was up and running within 10 minutes or so and we carried onto Essouria and had lunch in a restaurant by the sea. He provided guided tour of Essouria new town in the car and then gave us 2 hours of free time in the city which was beautiful and definitely worth a visit. It was less busy than Marrakech and relaxed without being excessively pestered with pastel coloured buildings by the sea. It was a great trip and I would reccomend it.

Smashing day! - Having read many of the reviews for Best Ride Tours on Trip Advisor, we booked a day trip to Essaouria. On the dot of 8.15 Rashid arrived at our hotel in a very comfortable saloon car. Firstly, we were impressed by his courtesy and his very safe driving. It is about a three hour drive to Essaouria. We had a stop half way there, for a comfort break and coffee. We had a brief stop on a cliffside to observe a beautiful beach- a surfer’s paradise apparently! Before arriving at Essaouria we visited an Argan oil women’s co-operative, which was really interesting. We arrived at the lovely town of Essaouria and we arranged to meet our driver again after a three hour sightseeing walk around. We enjoyed our day tremendously. Rashid went over and above his remit to ensure that our day was stress free and relaxed. He even kindly stopped on the return journey for us to examine and photograph a very rare plant which I had seen on the roadside. Highly recommended. Thank you Rashid!

great excursion, top guide - We had a very good day, the guide Hassane was super nice, smiling, he explained very well. Essaouira is a very pleasant city to visit. Stroll through the Jewish quarter and the small streets, photo stop on the city walls. The restaurant that Hassane recommended to us was excellent and inexpensive, fish, seafood, tagine, couscous, there is something for everyone. Visit to make!! Thanks to our guide :) Nathalie, Alain and Céline (the nonsense of Cambrai ;))
