Highlights
  • Emerald Lake Trail - We’ll start at the popular Bear Lake trailhead and go 1.6 miles to Emerald Lake. Along the way, we’ll walk through pristine pine forests, visit 4 mountain lakes, and experience the best mountain views in the Rocky mountains. This trail will lead us to Emerald Lake which is one of the most photographed mountain lakes in the Rocky mountains.
  • Dream Lake - If the lake is safely frozen we’ll snowshoe across this gorgeous mountain lake. Here the views open up and we’ll be able to see the distant Hallett Peak and Tyndall Glacier. This is where the best photo opportunities begin.
  • Bear Lake - Our trail starts at the popular Bear Lake trailhead and the lake is only 1/4 mile from the trailhead. This is our first mountain lake on the trail. It sits in a small basin surrounded by towering mountains and pristine pine forests.
  • Nymph Lake - This is the 2nd lake we’ll encounter along the trail. It has its own unique charm and beauty and if it’s safely frozen, we’ll snowshoe across it and pick up the trail on the other side.
