Once everyone is ready, the tour will proceed to the next destination – the Roman villa of Torre de Palma, approximately 45 minutes away.
- Villa Lusitano-Romana de Torre de Palma / Estacao Romana de Monforte - On the way to the Roman villa of Torre de Palma, located just over an hour away, the discussion will continue. At this site, participants will learn about the Roman villa culture in Portugal and have the chance to visit the charming museum, the well-preserved Roman structures, and, most notably, the exquisite collection of mosaics. There will be some free time to explore Torre de Palma at one’s own pace, and by 12:30, the tour will move on to the next stop – lunch, about 30 minutes away.
- Estremoz - Although lunch is not included in the tour, it is believed that a beautiful setting enhances the meal experience. Therefore, the tour will stop for lunch in the town of Estremoz, 30 minutes from Torre de Palma. Here, there are several options for a light lunch (not provided) at a local café or restaurant, or alternatively, participants may choose to enjoy a packed lunch.
- Almendres Cromlech - Departure from Estremoz is scheduled for around 2:15 pm, followed by a 1 hour and 15-minute drive and a 30-minute walk (one-way) to the Cromlech of Almendres, often referred to as the Stonehenge of Portugal. At the site, the emergence of the Neolithic in the region will be discussed, along with an overview of the theories associated with the monument.
