09am Start our journey to Alentejo. As we cross the Vasco da Gama Bridge, Europe’s longest bridge of 17km, you will see expansive vineyards, cork trees and typical Alentejo sceneries dotted with numerous stork nests. Our first stop after approximately 2 hours will be at Ervideira where we are scheduled to tour their Wine Cellar and participate in a tasting session of 10 wines, which includes a blind tasting and samples of wine aged 8 months from Alqueva Lake, the biggest artificial lake in Europe.
We then head to the quaint Mourão Village for a delectable lunch at the traditional Restaurant Adega Velha or similar.
Post lunch, we will explore the Village of Monsaraz, one of Portugal’s most authentic village situated close to the Spanish border. Monsaraz has a rich history and has been successively occupied by the Romans, Visigoths, Arabs, Mozarabs, and Jews.
The day ends in Évora where we tour landmark locations in the city such as the Évora World Heritage site, Diana Roman Temple, Giraldo Square, Church of San Francisco, and the Chapel of Bones, before heading back to Lisbon.
