Departing from Lisbon via the 25th de Abril bridge and cruising through the serene Alentejo landscapes, our journey leads us to Évora, a city with a rich history that predates recorded history.
The city’s historical center, due to its monumental significance, was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986. This has led to Évora earning the title of a Museum City.
A walking tour through the city’s medieval walls will take us through notable Roman architecture in Lusitania, including the Roman Temple of Diana and the breathtaking Chapel of Bones in the Church of San Francisco. We will also visit Geraldo Square and the Évora Cathedral.
The local cuisine is a major attraction – Évora is the perfect place to experience traditional Alentejo dishes which primarily features pork and lamb, as well as bread.
The tour includes optional stops, with one being a visit to the Adega da Cartuxa winery – which requires a prior booking. The winery is renowned for its Pera Manca wine, which is considered one of Portugal’s finest.
