- 2640 Himalaya Rd - Mushing is Alaska’s state sport, and Borealis Basecamp guests have the opportunity to experience the thrill of dogsledding. During the hourlong ride, guests will travel along a section of the 800-mile TransAlaskan Pipeline, passing through an active trapline. A mushing guide will describe life along the rugged trail as the sled dog team swings through the snowy forest.

It can take up to one hour to drive to Basecamp! On Himalaya Road, you'll meet at the Adventure Center 15 minutes before the start of your tour. Because of our remote location and unpredictable weather, it is imperative that guests who are self-drive have vehicles with 4WD and winter tires.
