• Borealis Basecamp - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in the morning for a 45-minute drive north along the renowned Elliott Highway to Borealis Basecamp. Nestled in the heart of the Boreal Forest, the camp offers stunning panoramic views of the valley.

The trip includes a 1-hour dogsledding tour and a 30-minute reindeer meet and greet experience.

The team collaborates with local, passionate mushers who consider their dogs as family, providing guests the opportunity to learn about this amazing sport while riding through the snowy forest.

During the 30-minute tour, guests can meet the Alaskan-born reindeer that reside at Basecamp year-round. They enjoy a diet of reindeer feed and natural treats. The tour guide will explain how reindeer thrive in the Arctic throughout the year and offer guests the chance to feed and photograph them!

Lunch is served at Latitude 65, the on-site restaurant, featuring a menu of hot and cold sandwiches, noodle dishes, and a rotating selection of special features and fresh soups.

Guests can also partake in some of the complimentary resort activities.

Departure from Borealis Basecamp is at 4:30 pm.

Please be aware that if there is insufficient snow for dogsledding, UTVs will be used as an alternative.

We work exclusively with local, passionate mushers who view their dog teams as their family, and you will have the chance to understand this incredible sport on your hourlong ride through the snowy forest. You will ride on a genuine dogsled, either seated or standing, as the team of 8 dogs swings through the forest with you and your guide at a comfortable but thrilling pace. You will also have the chance to see the dog kennels, and a replica of a dog-sled race checkpoint, where the competitive mushers stop for fuel and rest on their long winter races.

On your reindeer tour, our experienced reindeer handlers will introduce you to the herd of reindeer at Borealis Basecamp, and you can feed, meet, and take pictures with these incredible animals.
