The Ultimate Northern Lights Experience - Feb 2025 - We took the Incredible Aurora Adventure Tour w/ Aurora in Alaska Company in Feb. 2025.
So happy with the first tour night results we took it again, a few days later. Was going to take the tour a 3rd night but the weather was not cooperating so we received a full refund.
This is a drive & find lights tour held outside on safe public land viewing locations supported by the daily/hourly science of the Northern Lights.
Our 1st trip provided a glimpse of the lights in the parking lot of the Santa Claus House in North Pole AK before we went to "our base camp" south of Eielson Air Force Base. While the 2nd trip was somewhere north off the Elliott Highway.
Tour guides / drivers / photographers - Madeline, Mike & Andrew (forgot the other driver's name, sorry) were terrific. All were very friendly and professional and went out of their way to make this experience so much fun & exciting.
They provided basic info to help us understand the science behind how the phenomenon in the sky works and answered every guests questions.
Even helped with guest camera settings, and took great photos of us under the Northern Lights.
All trips include a trailer that provides light food, fire pits and an indoor warming space (all hosted and maintained by the same wonderful staff members).
We could not have asked for more from a Tour Company especially when searching for the elusive Northern Lights
NOTE - The company basically has a money back guarantee and a generous 24-hour cancellation policy. Check their website for complete details.

Great tour, saw one aurora - My 23 year old son and I went on the tour. It was -30 out! But with layers you don't feel it much. However even though the van was heated it did get a bit chilly at times, with all the door opening and closing. The tour guides were super fun and were obviously good friends, they felt like a talk show host and a sidekick, ha! Lots of great info and very entertaining, it's obvious they enjoy their jobs which is awesome!
Good aurora activity was forecast and the skies were totally clear (thanks to the super cold weather), but it ended up being way less activity than was forecast. We only saw one aurora the whole night, for about 20 minutes, but I was grateful we saw that. Apparently there was spectacular aurora activity the night before. The auroras are a true crapshoot. The guides have an app that tracks potential aurora activity to the minute, like cool stormchaser stuff, but even they can be wrong. So resign yourself to going with the flow! Because the skies were still clear and good aurora activity was forecast again, I splurged on another aurora tour the next night with a company that also goes to Chena Hot Springs (Alaska Wildlife Guide LLC), which I wanted to see as well. And there was a TON of spectacular aurora activity that night! So you really never know. Try not to put all your aurora viewing eggs in one basket, and go out multiple nights if the weather is clear.
The reindeer sausage was yummy (and seconds are okay!). The beverages were good but a bit hard to maneuver with gloves on in -30 weather, ha! We only went to one location, because there were no auroras on the way back. The free pictures were a great bonus, and well done! No need to purchase the touched up ones in my opinion, the raw ones are great. The campfire was fun and most welcome, but apparently I got too close to it, because some of the embers burned holes in my ski pants! (found out the next day) I guess ski clothing isn't fireproof, for obvious reasons I suppose.
Great company, highly recommended!

Incredible Aurora Viewing Outing - This is a great tour company to book with. Each member of the team (Tony, Andrew, Nick, Braden) was very personable and very knowledgeable, not only about the aurora but about everything Alaska. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience and that all guests were comfortable. Snacks and beverages were provided. You could warm up by a roaring fire outside or in a warming trailer with a wood burning stove. They helped with camera settings as well. Most importantly, they kept their word. We went out one night but cloud cover obscured the aurora for the whole night (despite a forecast that predicted a good night for the lights). The next morning, we received a text offering us a free outing that night or a 50% refund. We chose to go out a second night, and Mother Nature delivered. The Aurora team did as well. Thank you so much for a great time!!

Simply Magical - This group was amazing from start to finish! They picked us up on time at our hotel. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Alaska and kept us entertained during the drive. It was almost like being with storm chasers as they communicated over radios about where the lights were. Once we settled in, the lights came out to dance. It was simply amazing and everyone was mesmerized. Having a place to step inside and warm up was a wonderful bonus. The campfires, music and overall attitude of the entire group made this a magical night to remember. 10/10.

Amazing team gave us a fabulous experience - This was an amazing experience - once in a lifetime! The whole team was organized and experienced and made it wonderful.
They communicated the details, were careful drivers, found a great spot to view, set up fires and a mobile warming lodge so we could thaw out between the waves of the aurora and enjoy the snacks and warm beverages
It could not have been any better!

Absolutely must do! - My wife and I came to Alaska to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary and see the Aurora! We were overjoyed with the experience we had! The crew worked so hard to make sure we were in the best place at the right time to see the lights and to make sure we were comfortable watching them! They worked so hard to make sure everybody had a spectacular time! This experience is well worth the money and I would highly recommend it to anybody who comes to see the lights!

Their Aurora Guarantee saved the trip! Night one: Bust; Night two: BEAUTY - This tour company knows customer service. First of all, their Aurora Guarantee is what saved our trip. Keep reading for the full story.
The first night we went out it was originally forecasted to be a clear night with good chances to view the Aurora. Well, the clouds never left, so we didn’t get to see Aurora other than a little glowing behind the clouds. Even though the clouds were covering everything, the guides all made sure we still had an enjoyable time with reindeer sausage hot dogs, popcorn, and unlimited warm beverages. They had a trailer we could escape to if it was too cold or we could go also onto the heated sprinter van. We were bummed (obv no one can control nature so it was in no way the fault of the company), but thankful that we still had a nice time.
Fast forward to the next morning: I wake up with a text from the tour company offering us a second chance of going out (for free) or a 50% refund. Well, we didn’t travel all the way to Alaska in the winter to give up after one bummer night, so we chose to go out again. SO GLAD we did because we had beautiful Aurora ALL NIGHT. Andrew (our driver both nights) even pulled over to have us see it a few times on the way to the primary photo location. Even though it was our second night we still got drinks and reindeer sausage and were treated with a lot of care and fun. The photographer photos were *chef’s kiss* and it’s a memory I’ll cherish forever.
Questions you might have that I can answer:
1. We were picked up around 9:30-9:45 both nights and dropped off around 3am.
2. Yes there were bathrooms at both locations we visited, but they are bathrooms you’d find at a campground. Basic, get the job done, and cold (but what do you expect from going into a forest/lake area).
3. Reindeer sausages were bomb. They had regular, spicy, and a vegan option as well. They had loads of sauces and you could choose to have it with a bun or not.
4. You are staying up LATE. Prepare yourself. But so worth it if you get to see the Aurora.
5. We took tons of photos with the photographers and the unedited
ones were included in the tour. They also have edited versions you can purchase.
6. They do a Timelapse video and it’s fantastic. I am obsessed with the copy they sent me. 23 got our photos 3 days after the tour so that was a quick turn around.
7. Overall really nice group of people putting this on. We had at least 10 staff working all night either taking photos, replenishing supplies, keeping the fires going, working the reindeer sausages, etc.
8. Was it worth it? My gosh, YES. Bucket list item!!

Know that the destination... - Know that the destination is fluid. Our drivers Tony and Madeline used forecast data and skycams to determine where our best chances of viewing were. On a night with poor prospects, we saw great displays twice. Tony took great photos, while Madeline built a fire and tended camp. The van was comfy, but dress warmly so you don't have to retreat to it. The reindeer sausages were very tasty and the hot beverages were a nice touch. I'd be happy to do it all again!
