Family fun - If you are going to kayak in the dark, this shouldn’t be your first time kayaking!! You will get wet from the waist down as you walk in the water to get on your kayak. Neat experience!!

Bioluminescence lagoon and star gazing - Definitely would recommend going during the new moon. The tour guides were well trained and exhibited a lot of patience with everyone. Definitely worth seeing if you visit Puerto Rico.

It is definitely worth... - It is definitely worth the trip, and an unforgettable experience. The bioluminescence is amazing. Be prepared to get wet and to be kayaking in near pitch black conditions. Not as bad as it sounds, but definitely led to many fun collisions with other kayaks.

Kayaking at bio bay was a... - Kayaking at bio bay was a fun experience. We had no prior experience of kayaking however the tour guides were always available to help navigate the channel. It was a cloudy and rainy night and we did experience the glow and get to see jellyfish. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Puerto Rico.

Fun and unique experience - This was a fun and unique experience. Based on other reviews, I booked this on my arrival day in San Juan because a new moon had just passed and I wanted the least light pollution possible. The kayaking experience itself was fun and when we got to the Bio Bay they did hand out the tarp as described by others but I didn’t notice any fowl smells as others described. The bioluminescence was clear under the tarp when we moved our hands in the water, and even without the tarp it was clear on the shaded side of the kayak away from the moon light. It looks like sparks flying around your fingers. The staff was friendly and efficient and the shuttle was clean. The ride there was 2 hours due to heavy traffic but the ride back was about half that. Overall a great and unique experience.

Awesome company - 100% recommend. Staff was amazing. This was my first time in a kayak and I was by myself. Manalo (not sure of name) took me in his kayak and he did everything. Got so much more info being with him.

Thank you so much to EJ,... - Thank you so much to EJ, Manolo, and Felix for being very kind and patient as we navigated the waters. They were great at explaining what we were seeing and we got to hold jellyfish!! FYI- bioluminescence is year-round and brightest in the summer. The jellyfish are only there for a few months at a time (exact time varies) and they eat the bioluminescence so you can hold them and see them light up. The mangrove Forrest is dark so be patient and use teamwork. If this is your first time kayaking you can definitely do it & kudos!

Very frustrating... - Very frustrating experience - especially if you are not an experienced kayaker. After paddling like hell through the mangroves and once in the lagoon, they put tarps over you so you can see the water better but the kayaks are so jammed together, you'll be lucky to see the water at all. Plus the tour operators don't know what to do with the group after the smelly tarp experience so they point out stars. Just not as fun as we hoped for.
