Night kayaking with a glow — surreal! - So cool! Used the tarp out on the lake, had fun splashing water up and watching our hands glow, plus in the canal our oars created the best bioluminescent effect! Our kayak host Emily was very informative, helpful and patient, and our driver Angel did a great job doubling as tour guide on the drive to and fro. Really, just the experience of kayaking in a remote area at night was great in and of itself. Felt like covert operations, ha!

Beautiful to see! - What a great experience. The guides were excellent and helped us when we bumped into some trees early on. The bioluminescent was incredible to see. We got transport from San Juan so it was very convenient. Highly recommend!!

Excellent kayak experience - I was an inexperienced at kayaking and had to be towed along the route. AJ was amazing so patient as he navigated my partner and I through the bay… even as he made sure all those in his group was together and safe. Going to the bay wasn’t bad but coming back was insane due to the current lol. While the group was all over the place all the tour guides made sure the group was together and safe and most importantly made it fun.

Bioluminescence kayak - The bioluminescence were fascinating and the kayak through the mangoes e was full of night noises. It felt a bit rushed though.

First time in a biobay - Pros: transportation offered and convenient, air conditioned too. Organized and very friendly service. Kayaking felt safe and was not super vigorous. Guides informative Cons. Bit buggy when not moving both on land and in the water. Transport was an hour and a bit bumpy. We’d never done anything like this so we didn’t know what to expect. In my head I’m picturing a glowing bay. Apparently the bioluminescence doesn’t happen unless you agitate the water so you only see it when you paddle or put your hand in to move the water around. Still quite cool. Be aware it is VERY dark especially on the way back. We liked that but maybe not for everyone. That said never felt unsafe. 3 guides for about 15 of us. (Emily AJ and Joe). We’d do it again!

Fun tour, beware mosquitos - Really fun tour at night. Be sure to bring bug spray, we were massacred with mosquitos at the kayak launch location.

Bad experience - I have been to this place several times in the past and it's always been a great experience. When we arrived I asked the tour guides how the bioluminescence organisms were lighting up lately. Once we were on our way they admitted that they have not been lighting up for over a week because of the weather and we may get lucky to have the experience. When we got to the Bay the organisms were absolutely dormant and our experience was not what we paid for. This tour should have been canceled in advance since they knew that the organisms we're not active as expected. From speaking to friends locally they've told me that this has happened before and it's unacceptable. I'm going to request a refund.
