Great family snorkeling trip! - What a great trip! Our 2 kids (12 and 9) enjoyed all parts of it, as did we! The crew was friendly and helpful, the boat was comfortable, the snacks and drinks were yummy. The official snorkeling stop on the reef was pretty (though not amazing, but that could have just been the day), and the stop at the island was awesome. There’s more snorkeling there right off the shore if you’re interested. We really appreciated the afternoon start time of the trip! We’d definitely book with Sea Ventures again!

NOT SAFE, Find another team. - I don’t even know where to start. First my family of 7 booked the morning Fajardo snorkeling tour but were moved to the afternoon tour, no problem only I had to confirm the time change and spent close to two hours calling them with no answer and a full voicemail box. I should have known then. Next the email confirmation said checkin was at 1pm but it was 1:30, again no big deal only it’s hot as hell and I was with 3 small children and that 30mins was torture. When staff arrived to walk us to the boat, the lady stopped like 2 or 3 times to greet and kiss her friends while her customers briefly waited. The boat was nice, snacks were fine, the captain was cool and gave a few safety measures before leaving. Oh and they take your shoes so you gotta walk around the boat bare foot, not my style and would have liked to know that in advance. We get to the first stop (which I don’t recall they even told us where we were) everyone gets their gear on and get in the water. I gotta mention that the staff never told us to all blow up the life vests, if you didn’t see others doing it, you wouldn’t even know to do it as a first timer. Another customer had to show us how to blow them up. One of the most important parts of you ask me and again, I should have known then! Again with small children that never snorkeled before, it took us a little longer to teach them how to use the goggles and mouth piece with NO HELP at all from the team. By the time we got into the water the group had left us and we were basically on our own. One of my little ones was too scared so I took her back to the boat and the rest of us continued. At the second stop, you get free time for about an hour so no vests, masks, or mouthpieces required. Here’s the issue and the cause for a 1 star rating. Swimming back to the boat my husband (who is a good swimmer) started to struggle in the water. He hit a few waves that caused him to swallow a lot of water, he couldn’t breathe, and was going under. My oldest made it to the boat and asked Angelica (I think that’s her name) for help. This lady took her SWEET TIME getting off of the boat and into the water to help us. And by sweet time, I mean, she had to grab her flippers and the red life saver, and literally did not rush one bit. My daughter yelled for her to hurry up and she told her “I’m going as fast as I can”. By the time she got to my husband (like 5 ft from the boat) my sister had already had him floating on his back and dragging him in. My sister was so upset that she snatched the life saver from her. When reaching the boat the other lady asked Angelica if he was ok and she said “he just swallowed some water”, like he didn’t just almost drown in front of all of his kids. All this to say, these people have no sense of urgency and if my sister were not there, it would have been a disaster because that lady was too busy to realize what was happening. DO NOT trust your life with this team. They do this every day, multiple times a day and you can tell that it’s just a job for some of them. Again, I think the boat and the captain were great, hence the one star but safety wise, I could have woken up today without a husband and she totally downplayed the situation. Lessons learned; all swimmers whether good or bad, should wear vests at all times. People with smaller children should pick a team that’s more dedicated to customer service and the experience. Before booking your tour, ask the team what their process is if someone appears to be drowning.
