Very cool experience. - Driver and tour guides were both excellent. Talked a lot about the Jamaican culture. The lagoon was super cool. We were afraid of the overcast weather and choppy ocean that we wouldn’t be able to see the Luminous but we did. Water was very warm.

Amazing Phenomenon! - One thing with this tour is that it is very reliant on the weather. Our resort was awesome and told us what day would be the best to go. Much of this tour depends on how the other people on the boat listen. 1) NO flash or lights (that’s a hard one for some people) 2) don’t stir up the muck with your feet it will affect the glow. Overall cool experience. Glad we went!

Great experience! - Had a great trip here and was so interesting to hear the science behind it! We arrived at a small dock area with a little gift shop, a bar and lots of seating, we got a verrrry strong rum punch that was delicious, we had to wait around for a while before we could get in the boat but it was intermittent very heavy downpours so that probably didn’t help the wait. The staff/ captain etc are all very friendly and knowledgeable. We were informed the glow is not always bright , it’s weather dependent. When they stopped to tell us this is where we should get in the water, everyone was abit apprehensive as we could see no glow from the boat like I seen in some other pictures, but gladly as we got in the water it was so warm! and when we started moving, we seen the glow and it was fascinating! Would recommend and would do this again :)

Great experience. Low review due to quality of glow. - This was a great experience despite the water not illuminating as much as it could have, however we were well informed that this could happen depending on the weather. The tour guides were funny and good and even our toddler was brave/safe enough to try this! The fire dancer performance was pretty cool too!

Bioluminescence was a bust - While the lack of bioluminescence was the fault of the poor conditions following the hurricane, this excursion was a bust in other ways. The driver was 20 minutes late, drove in a very herky-jerky fashion and, at one point had to slam on the brakes so as not to be t-boned. The rum punch was so strong it was undrinkable. The driver was very nice - seemed much younger than the 16 years of age they claimed he was. We tipped him because he wasn’t the one to blame. It ended up being a 40 minute boat ride in the dark.

Not a guaranteed experience - The crew that took us out to the lagoon was great! When I booked the experience I assumed it was a guaranteed experience but it wasn’t. Unfortunately the water was too cold and we were unable to see the water light up. No fault to anyone! But if I would have known that this wasn’t guaranteed I don’t know that I would have booked. Again the crew was great! They offered us a free drink when we got to our location and tried for a while to activate the silt, the water was cod and that’s why we weren’t able to see it

Once in a lifetime opportunity, but only at the right time… - The three gentlemen who narrated and piloted the boat were outstanding!! And the rum punch…OH MY GOODNESS! I wish I could smuggle a jug of that stuff home! We did a sunset cruise first which was great. We did see a little of the bioluminescence, but we had to move around a lot to see it. If you plan to do this activity, be sure to research when it is the best time of the year to see it.

A bit disappointed ! - I did a sunset boat cruise which was well written up bt short on delivery..The boat left the dock after sunset it drive around very slowly the captain talk about his himself for about 5 minsthe slowly went to the lagoon is not very far from the dock you got about 10 maybe 15 mins there, the water is warm like a bath ,it feels like you are stepping in warm mush plus to have move around a lot to see any glowing. I would suggest going out as late as possible.

Appalling - Driver was very friendly. But this trip is vastly falsely advertised! Over an hr in a taxi, 10 minutes on a boat being driven out to see in the pitch black (really couldn’t see anything) We were then told we had 10 minutes in the middle of a pitch black ocean that when treading water it stirred up the sea bed which lit up. 10 minutes back on a boat and another hour in a taxi back, Left at 5.30pm (half an hr earlier than expected) was back at the hotel no later than 7.30pm. Actually pleased the trip wasn’t 4hrs long as “advertised” as it was that bad! Will be putting in a request for a refund as it wasn’t worth the money, time more tips which you feel obliged to give. No caves and no actual lagoons….again complete false advertising/ marketing. DO NOT waste your money
