Perfect experience for the over 60’s - I am afraid of heights and being under water so when I saw rafting suitable for children it seemed the perfect choice. I was not disappointed. The shockwaves team could not have been better. I had full confidence in their ability and safety of the boat. Of course it is thrilling but never felt dangerous. There was opportunity for those who wanted to jump into the rapids or off of rocks to do so. Lunch and drinks provided. The hardest part is the climb back up to the top but one of the crew patiently helped. Another bonus is the drive to the park through genuine local villages- saving you the expense of another tour company showing you some staged village. Could not recommend highly enough.

Beautiful scenery of the gorge and had a wonderful experience with whole team from Shockwave. - It was a really wonderful experience! The adrenaline was just so so intense. I would do it again and again. Special mention Mr Moyo for being a wonderful guide and captain.

Shockwave Whitewater Rafting Adventures Rocks! - What a pleasure to deal with Shockwave from beginning to end! From the online booking to the last goodbye we had one phenomenal experience. I cannot recommend the Shockwave Team enough! They are the best of the best. There is just no end to them, truly a team of people and an experience my family and I will never forget. Life’s an adrenaline raft on the Zambezi - A thrilling on the edge experience that we will cherish for a long time. Did this one with my wife and two teen daughters. Our first time at river rafting and boy did we have fear and fun in our faces all at once. We loved it! Philani and his team at Shockwave make it a safe enjoyable family experience that became the highlight of our holiday. The entire activity becomes an adventure from the hike down to the Batoka gorge, riding the rapids on edge and to hiking back up to an awesome lunch in the natural beauty of the bush. A big tick off our bucket list. The action pics package is a must.

The only company offering family rafting trips in Victoria Falls - I am a tour operator who booked Shockwave Adventures for a private family rafting day trip. None of the other river operators will take children on the river. However, Philani has many years of experience on the world's biggest rivers and is fastidious about safety with children. From the start, Benko was extremely helpful and when I called with questions, Philani answered them all patiently and comprehensively. Before the trip, I visited them in their offices to reconfirm all elements of the trip. My colleague did a half day of rafting with them in preparation and she came back singing their praises. When it came to the family trip, Philani and Benko came to the hotel themselves to fit life vests and helmets to the kids and to answer any questions the family had. On the day of the rafting, Philani guided the trip himself and there were several safety guides on the water. The clients felt extremely safe and repeatedly applauded the operation. It was the highlight of their stay in Victoria Falls. I would absolutely recommend Shockwave Adventures for a family rafting trip.

Awesome family day whitewater rafting - This trip was awesome…fast, fun, thrilling and our guides were just brilliant. Our 9 year old son loved it as did mum and dad. Totally recommend this!

Incredibly safe and a professional company. - We went as two families in one raft. The guides were very experienced and found the whole experience to be well planned. We felt safe in the hands of the guides who all knew exactly what they were doing . They guided us through grade 5 rapids safely. Thete were also two safety kayaks in front snd behind thecraft in case anyone fell out. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip had a chance for a swim and a bonus fantastic lunch at the end. I could not recommend enough. Absolutely superb and thrilling day delivered also with a sense of humour !

Fantastic Half day on Zambezi River - Wow! What a fantastic day rafting the Zambezi River with Shockwave. I can't recommend it enough! The staff was so kind, friendly, and helpful. After being driven to the starting point and receiving our life jackets, helmets, & paddle, we hiked down to the river. I was a bit apprehensive - I really didn't want to fall in but our boat guides TT and Terrance clearly were experts with safety in mind. They really took care of us. I thought that I'd prefer the boat with the more rigid frame where the guide has 2 paddles. Although we chose the other boat, clearly both boats were safe and fun as seen through Tambo's great video. The 10 year old in our boat had a ball! (I also liked that Timbu the photographer was in a kayak ready to help if any of us had fallen out.) My tips - drink plenty of water (I didn't and it hit me hiking out of the gorge in the heat at the end.) Wear shoes that can get wet and do well hiking. Bring a strap for sunglasses - I was glad that I had mine. BUY the PHOTOS and VIDEO package at the end. (It is so worth it!! Tambu took amazing photos at multiple sections of rapids and created an awesome video. He'd paddle ahead of us, climb onto the rocks, take photos/video of our boats going through the rapids, then kayak by us again to get to the next rapids ahead of us...again and again. ) We had so much fun with our new friends on the river. Thank you so much to everyone who made our day so great!
