- Victoria Falls - Take your family rafting down the Zambezi, spend a day in an incredible river with your kids. Paddle a distance of between 16-23km depending on the water levels & enjoy a barbecue lunch on top of the Batoka Gorge. Scull through a series of Class 1-4 rapids with our experienced guides steering you through the onerous rapids of the Zambezi reckoned as a premier river for whitewater rafting. You will not only relish the adrenaline pumping thrill of this activity but you will also marvel at the stark, sheer beauty and tranquility of the amazing Batoka Gorge.
We run family trips on a STERN MOUNT RAFT with a frame and 2 big wooden oars to give a guide full control of the raft. Guests have an option of paddling through some rapids or just enjoy holding on the rope. For kids we have special handle straps made in USA whereby kids sit in the middle & hold on but they can try paddling small rapids. Most rapids on this river are run on 2-3 different options. Clients may choose an option but the guide`s decision is final especially if we have little kids. e.g if a rapid on the left is a level 2, on the center a level 3 & on the right level 4, the guide will choose the option for a best run.

Safe and Thrilling Rafting Experience - Rafting with Shockwave Adventures is an amazing experience. They are true professionals, and with them, my husband and I, along with our two children aged 10 and 12, felt safe and could fully focus on the adventure. I highly recommend them!

Great for Families - The rafting is phenomenal. The hike up and down is challenging - The experience we had with this group was amazing. The rafting itself was immensely fun and thrilling. We had two boats because of the size of our family, which included 6 kids under the age of 14. So if you have younger kids, you can still do this. The bigger challenge for some of us was the hike down to and up from the river to the top. Just know that it will kick your butt, and it is a climb. You do need to be in pretty good shape to manage it. You feel rewarded at the end, but there are a few traitorous parts. The guides are fantastic. Tip them well. Thank you, TT, JB, Mr. Nice Guy, and everyone who helped make this a phenomenal experience for our families.

Rafting with kids - What a great trip!
With my two sons (12-13 year) going down the rapids was superb!!
Very friendly and professional staf, they are very careful with the kids.
Rock jump, swimming, jokes, paddling, great lunch, lots of water, great staff, safe, good gear for kids etc
If I come back to Vic falls you will see me again shockwave adventures!!

Great Day out Whitewater rafting - We had an awesome day out with JB, Pumba and the crew. They are a fun, energetic bunch who made sure we enjoyed the day. At the start we did a safety briefing with some practice drills before attempting rapids 11-24. They shared some info about sights and sounds on the river before we attempted the hike out of the gorge. This was a steep vertical hike but we were rewarded with some cold beers/drinks at the top and a lovely chicken braai. All in all a great day out!

Absolutely memorable morning rafting! - What an amazing experience, with a fun, knowledgeable and an awesome bunch of guides and staff members! They were accomodating, made jokes, had fun, safe, made us enjoy the day even more! Spectacular views, a wild ride. Kids and adults loved this rafting experience! They have a photographer and videographer that captured our day so brilliantly and was worth every cent!!!! Highly recommend. Just a side note, the walk up is tough for someone not strong or unfit, but the guides are there to help those that need it!

Whitewater rafting the Zambezi River - Very fun, amazing guides, and awesome food. Very much recommended! We drove through a traditional African village, met a few natives and enjoyed a fun drive.

FANTASTIC ADVENTURE - The whitewater rafting trip was WONDERFUL. From beginning to end everything was marvelous. The staff was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun. I cannot say enough great things about our trip. They made certain we had as much fun as possible while keeping us safe at all times. I am very happy there was a photographer on the trip with us, we chose to purchase video and photos. We had the trip of a lifetime and the photos to help us remember.

Lots of fun - Do it - This is the second time I have done the rapids tour , and a huge amount of fun. The guys are so professional and make the whole experience fun. The climb out of the gorge is not to be underestimated but on the whole an amazing day on the water and with stunning scenery. They are the guys to use for white water rafting

Perfect experience for the over 60’s - I am afraid of heights and being under water so when I saw rafting suitable for children it seemed the perfect choice. I was not disappointed. The shockwaves team could not have been better. I had full confidence in their ability and safety of the boat. Of course it is thrilling but never felt dangerous. There was opportunity for those who wanted to jump into the rapids or off of rocks to do so. Lunch and drinks provided. The hardest part is the climb back up to the top but one of the crew patiently helped. Another bonus is the drive to the park through genuine local villages- saving you the expense of another tour company showing you some staged village. Could not recommend highly enough.
