Nice escape from the busy coast - We booked this trip to have a taste of the rural part of Portugal and to temporarily escape the busy coast area. It was a bit of a drive but definitely worth it, enjoying some nice scenery on the way. Virginia and Joshua gave us a warm welcome, and we started with a walk in their beautiful domain while Virginia gave us info about local plants and fruits. She led us to the goats where we waited for a local herder who then took the goats for a walk. Afterwards we were invited to taste some local specialities like honey, figs, olive oil, goat cheese and a nice glass of wine. We really enjoyed the experience, highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience an authentic part of Portugal.

Goat day out, and the cheese isn't bad either. - Saw this on TripAdvisor and decided to give it go. The farm is an hour or so from the coast but it's well worth the trip if you have a car. Fantastic way to spend a couple of hours experiencing the rural Algarve. Incredible scenary, a very warm welcome from the family, the goats and dogs are great fun, and you'll learn alot about the traditional rural lifestyle of self sufficent living off the land. Loved the homemade bread, goats cheese, and the olives and honey also from the farm. We even got to try a pomegranate. Would definitely recommend if you fancy getting away from the main tourist attractions and seeing the countryside.

Great people make for the best experiences! - We decided to change up our Algarve stay a little bit and escape the beaches for the mountains for a day. Agrotourism is something that we have enjoyed elsewhere and we decided to try this experience. The incredibly authentic look into the lives of a subsistence farming region was fascinating, the scenery beautiful, and all the tastings delicious. But what really makes this experience stand out is the amazing family that runs it. Virginia and Josh welcome you into their home, give you a window into their lives and the lives of their neighbors and are an absolute joy to spend time with.

A Must to Learn about Country Life in the Algarve - If you are in this area, Virginia and Joshua's farm is a must to visit. We found the on Air B&B under "Taking Goats to Graze on Hills with Local Goatherder". The also have a Facebook page. We found it to be a wonderful experience. It provided us with a relaxing afternoon and very inviting company. Virginia's knowledge of the plant material in the are was amazing. Her and Joshua have a very nice farm that I'm sure will prosper over time. I would highly recommend a tour/visit of their farm and local goat farm. It is an excellent way to get to know the area and how people live here. They Wishing them the best on their farm and tour business.
