- Tjornuvik - Next, we head to the village of Tjørnuvík, a half-hour journey away. Tjørnuvík is set in a valley surrounded by towering mountains and features a striking black sandy beach, popular among cold-water surfers worldwide. From the beach, we can see the famous sea stacks, The Giant and the Witch, who, according to legend, attempted to drag the Faroe Islands to Iceland. The locals here are known for their warm hospitality and sometimes offer coffee and waffles for sale.
- Gjogv - Our journey continues to Fossá, the highest waterfall in the Faroe Islands, a must-see in northern Streymoy. We then travel along the old mountain road past Slættaratindur, the highest mountain in the Faroe Islands at 880 meters above sea level, on our way to the quaint village of Gjógv. Named after its deep gorge, Gjógv is celebrated for its unique and stunning scenery. Here, we’ll enjoy lunch and take a leisurely stroll around the village to soak in its distinctive beauty. For those interested, there’s a short walk to a viewpoint just above the village, a path maintained through the Faroes’ successful Voluntourism programme.
