Highlights
  • Faros Armenistis - Armenistis Lighthouse (Faros Armenistis) built in 1891 stands in its silence, as a tribute to the rich maritime history of Mykonos island. Situated on the north-western part of the island, at Fanari area, around 6.5 kilometers from Chora (Mykonos town) on the north coast road of the island, the lighthouse overlooks the stretch of sparkling blue water between Mykonos and the neighboring island of Tinos. Its strategic position offers scenic views of the surrounding areas and is well worth visiting to get a sense of the island’s fascinating history and enjoy its spectacular beauty. The decision to build the Armenistis Lighthouse was prompted by the sinking of the British steamship Volta in 1887 off the north coast of the island. Eleven people lost their lives in that unfortunate incident. Steps had to be taken to avoid this type of tragedy from happening again, and by 1891 the 19 meter tall lighthouse was standing as a guiding beacon to incoming ships. - Mykonos - Secondary stop to capture a panoramic Mykonos Town photo shooting from a hidden place.

What a fantastic evening!! - This was a fantastic evening! My guide was very friendly, informative and explained the history behind the light house and the island and its surroundings so well. The transport to and from the tour was organised in advance and very good as well A Mykonian Sunset really is something that everyone should witness and experience during their lifetime, it truly is majestic! The Mykonian night sky is truly marvelous too. I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it to those visiting the Island. Thank you for making this experience so memorable!

Make sure you will have a sunset - Would have been good on a warm night with a sunset. Unfortunately it was cold and cloudy. Thought we could have had a choice of wine - only red wine was offered and we are white wine drinkers.
