During the reign of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-80 AD), Aspendos received its well-preserved theatre, built by the Romans and maintained by the Byzantines and Seljuks. Cappadocia - Today, explore the Cappadocia region, a volcanic area with geological formations dating back 10 million years. After visiting Uchisar, head to the Goreme Open Air Museum, the heart of Cappadocia, known for its 10th-century frescoes depicting the life of Jesus Christ and monks. Next, visit Cavusin, followed by lunch at a restaurant in Avanos. After lunch, visit a pottery workshop to see pottery-making in action. Then, head to Pasabagi to view the three-headed fairy chimneys. Visit another workshop to see Cappadocian handwoven carpets and kilims. Next, explore Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, famous for its natural rock formations resembling animals.
