Would recommend this tour to anyone. You need a good guide, because Istanbul is rich in history and culture. - Our guide, Versace was an absolute treat... his knowledge and facts of the Basilica Cisern was interesting, filled with facts and some humor

Private tour of the Basilica Cistern with Mr Ayhan - We had a wonderful guided tour of the Basilica Cistern with our guide, Mr Ayhan. He is very knowledgeable about the site itself as well as the ancillary history and background of the cisterns. He used his iPad to show us pictures and short videos on things like how the water was transported to the cistern, etc. He also used a laser pointer to highlight specifics in the cistern which made it easy to spot the highlights he was referring to. He answered all of our questions and we came away with a very good perspective on this unique sight. The tour was about one hour, which IMHO is about right and the “skip the line” benefit of Mr Ayhan’s status as a tour guide was a nice time saver. We would highly recommend this tour and Mr Ayhan in particular….he was patient and mindful of us tourists, everything you want in a guide! Pro Tip: Make sure to check out his Medusa-related attire 😎

Cistern guides adds so much to the experience - Han set up our meeting place and time just across from the Cistern and he arranged for us to skip the line. He is very personable and articulate and shared his deep knowledge of the history of this mysterious underground treasure. We were very happy to have home with us to add to the experience with a lot of background knowledge. The tour was fantastic and we were so glad we hired Han to help us appreciate the experience.

Wonderful experience! - What a wonderful experience!! The Basilica Cistern is amazing at night. Our guide, AyHAN is one of the best I have encountered. A lot of knowledge, well prepared, enthusiastic storytelling and with his Ipad visualizing the stories and going even more in depth, it is an experience never to forget! Thank you so much AyHAN.

Great tour with AyHAN of the Basilica Cistern - We have a very enjoyable tour of the Basilica Cistern with AyHAN. While the actual attraction is fascinating and captivating, it is pretty simple. He came prepared with his iPad to provide context and history and gossip to better understand what we were looking at and its significance to Istanbul. Highly recommended.

Cisterna tour w/ AyHAN - Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Cistern, and of Turkish history. The Cisterna is a Roman cistern that is incredibly large built in the 1st century. The Roman columns are beautiful and the place has a mystery to it that is interesting. AyHAN was engaging and friendly; a perfect tour guide! I would recommend AyHAN and the Basilica Cisterna!
