Peaceful - I was amaze with the Hagia Sophia Mosque the inside is something to be hold. All the detail work on the ceiling. I felt calmand at peace when even with a large crowd inside.

A Stunning Blend of History and Architecture - If you're a history enthusiast like me, Hagia Sophia will be right up your alley. This iconic site is absolutely breathtaking, full of centuries-old stories that echo through its grand halls. The architecture alone is enough to leave you speechless—it's a gorgeous masterpiece. What I found particularly fascinating was the seamless blend of Islamic and Christian elements throughout the building. From the intricate mosaics to the towering minarets, every corner reflects a unique fusion of two great traditions like no other place I've visited.
Visiting Hagia Sophia is not just a visual experience but also a journey through time, with every detail telling a story of its past. Whether you're here for the history or the sheer beauty of the architecture, this place will leave a lasting impression.

No words to describe perfection - The best immersion in faith, history, architecture and art I've ever had! I never imagined being so big and so well planned! Impressive the techniques used.

One of the Big Five Attractions in Istanbul - Iconic mosque with breathtaking architecture and tiles. Originally a Roman Orthodox Church in the Byzantine Empire and then converted into a Mosque, the attraction mirrors the role of the city as a nexus point of civilizations over many centuries

Mesmerising - What a truly stunning building. It has to be said that the very expensive entry price (about £45 for the Hagia Sofia plus museum located a 2 minute walk) was eye watering expensive. However I thought it one of the most amazing buildings I have ever been in. The history of the place is unparalleled spanning nearly 1500 years, first as a church and for the past 500 years as a mosque. The pictures I include here don’t do justice to it. You do get an audio guide with the tour but it wasn’t the best quality - although it helps to explain key things you are looking at. Important to understand it is once again a mosque so non Muslims can only access the upstairs area. The mixture of Byzantine works of art (covered up for hundreds of years) and Islamic art is stunning. Allow about an hour if you want to look at everything in detail.

Not worth the visit - 25€ for the visit it is not worth it is practically a scam.compared to my visit 18 years ago it has nothing to do with it
Very disappointing no need to do a mileage line and pay 25 € per person
All to see some mosaics upstairs because the ground floor is reserved for Muslims and Turkish citizens

My 5th visit was most disappointing - Highly disappointing that full access has been taken out and now is even more expensive then before for less to see and no access to the ground floor takes away the beauty of the place

Tourist rip-off - €25 gets you entrance to only the main space in the mosque which according to the ticket office takes 10-15 minutes - you have to pay €48 to have the full tour.

This Beautiful Byzantine Cathedral has lost its joint heritage - I was v disappointed as it has lost its joint Byzantine christian heritage. Hagia Sophia is a magnificent building and a master piece. It was built as a Byzantine Christian Cathedral but this is now forgotten. Istanbul is suffering from over tourism and are making visiting Hagia Sophia for tourists very difficult with massive queues . I only had 1 day in Istanbul and wanted to visit this great Byzantine cathedral which I first visited in 1972. I queued for 1hr to buy a ticket. It was 50 euros. I then queued for 30 min to visit the museum. I returned to the tourist entrance of the cathedral where the queue was massive approx 1.5 hr to enter the cathedral. I did not have time to spend 3 hr queuing in a day. I do not recommend visiting this magnificent building at the moment and the museum is not good.
