Fez - Ifrane - Azrou - Erfoud - Merzouga\n\nMerzouga - Leave the hustle and bustle of Fez behind while heading to the small town of Merzouga at 8 a.m. Cross the mountains of the Middle Atlas and its beautiful cedar forests, full of Berber apes. This mountain range extends 350 kilometers from the southeast to the northeast of Morocco.\n\nAlong the way, you will admire the city of Ifrane, located at a height of 5,460 meters above sea level. This city is also known as the “Little Switzerland” of Morocco, for its architecture and for being one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the country. Azrou, a lovely city in the heart of the Atlas, is also on the road.\n\nCross the Ziz Valley and the dramatic gorges and pass through towns like Midelt and Erfoud. From Erfoud, take a dirt road until you reach Merzouga. Here, you will spend the first night in a hotel on the edge of the endless desert.\n\n### Enjoying the desert of Merzouga\n\nMerzouga - On the second day of the excursion, you will visit the most spectacular part of Eastern Sahara. Climb aboard a 4x4 and visit the nomadic settlements, several impressive oases and explore the beautiful golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.\n\nNext, visit the small town of Khamlia, where the Gnawa live. The Gnawa population is a descendant of slaves from Central Africa and is famous throughout the world for its beautiful folk music that combines classical Islamic Sufism and its traditions.\n\nAt night, they will take you back to your hotel where the camels will be waiting to take you to the heart of the dunes to spend a night in a Berber tent.\n\n### Rissani - Ziz Valley - Middle Atlas - Fez\n\nFes - Wake up in the dark and sit on the top of a dune to witness an impressive sunrise. Then, get on a camel and return to the small town of Merzouga, where you will have breakfast and take a refreshing shower (depending on the type of camp, your breakfast and your shower could be before the camel ride).\n\nOn the way back to Fez, you will stop at Tafilalt and Rissani. This last city has a fascinating past, as it was home to the Alawite dynasty. In the forests of Azrou, he will stop to feed the wild monkeys that live here.\n\nThe tour ends in Fez at the end of the afternoon.
