Day 1: Fes - Azrou - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Camel Tour - Overnight in the Desert
Marrakech Camel Trips - Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga.
The tour begins with a visit to the most historical monuments and museums in Fes, followed by a stroll through the old medina. Next, the journey continues to Ifrane, a beautiful city in Morocco known for its stone chalets and red tile roofs. A short drive outside Azrou city leads to the ancient cedar tree in the cedar forest, “the Gouraud Cedar,” where friendly Berber Apes often greet visitors, hoping for a treat.
A lunch break is scheduled in Midelt before proceeding to Ziz Valley. Along the way, travelers will be captivated by the stunning Atlas Mountains, rivers, and villages lining the road. The Ziz Valley is home to the country’s largest palm tree oasis. Before sunset, the tour arrives in Merzouga to witness a magical sunset, with an overnight stay in the camp.
Day 2: Merzouga - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley
Dades Gorges - An early start allows for a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by a camel ride back to the hotel. After freshening up and enjoying breakfast, the journey continues to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, culminating in the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah - High Atlas Mountain - Marrakech
Marrakech - After breakfast, the drive proceeds through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. The route, known as the way of the thousand Kasbahs, offers numerous photo opportunities. Visits include the Roses Valley and Skoura village, followed by Ouarzazate, “the Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch is at the renowned Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, the largest in Morocco. After exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site, the journey continues through the majestic Tizi n’Tichka pass, reaching an altitude of 2260m over the High Atlas Mountains. Stops are made to enjoy the stunning views and visit the argan oil cooperative, with arrival in Marrakech by late afternoon.
