A priceless opportunity. - I am grateful for the unique opportunity to be in the Rif mountains to learn an ancient way of working with clay. From the beauty of the land and Hicham’s homestay, to the warmth and mastery of Zhour’s teachings and family, it was an unforgettable experience.

Loved our experience - It was a unique experience that my friend and I enjoyed. We had a good feeling about it from the beginning as communication with Hicham was excellent. He helped organise everything which included a return trip from Fez and accommodation at his home stay (additional cost but very reasonably priced and all meals included) As for the ceramic course itself, Zhour was a great teacher. It was interesting to experience the whole process from collecting the raw materials to the end products. We especially loved how sustainable everything was. In addition, the walk from Hicham’s home stay to Zhour’s place was incredibly scenic and full of animals and stunning nature, we thought that was a beautiful addition to our ceramic experience.

Don't hesitate to book this tour! - This was a very memorable experience. We feel so fortunate to have been able to visit this beautiful village. Our tour guide Hicham was very knowledgeable and kind. The Zhour family were so hospitable and sweet. We loved learning about the beautiful art of traditional pottery and also to be able to enjoy a lovely home cooked meal. This was absolutely a highlight of our three weeks of extensive travel in Morocco. We would highly recommend this experience!

Wonderful stay in Taouante - A wonderful experience in Taouante! I stayed at the homestay, and it was perfect. Hicham and his family took great care of me and made me feel at home. The food was delicious and plentiful. The scenery around the village I stayed in was beautiful and there were pleasant hikes in the region. The region has a lot to offer, and I am eager to go back and explore more. If you want to have a peaceful local experience it is recommended to stay here.

Come for the activities, stay for everything else - Hicham of Taounate Ecotourism Discoveries arranged an unforgettable week for me in off-the-beaten-path Taounate. I hardly even know where to start this review. Do I first mention the activities, which is what brought me here? The wonderful pottery workshop and cooking class, where I learned things I have since used in my every day life. Or do I begin with the food? Everything was so fresh and flavourful; the best I've tasted in Morocco. Maybe I should commence with the landscapes, even though I selfishly don't want everyone to know how drop-dead gorgeous this special place is. Actually, I think this review should start and end with the people. Everyone I met, from the beautiful family I stayed with to all the others I interacted with during my time there - shepherds who wove me palm bracelets just because; locals who offered me fruit from their tree; villagers who greeted me warmly; and of course Hicham, who was a helpful contact and excellent ambassador for this region - were simply wonderful. Like another reviewer said, you have to live it at least once in your life. I'm glad I have and I certainly hope to return!

Great company, great guide, fascinating tour - This company has really amazing tours, tours that are arranged to visit beautiful, fragile, pristine, undisturbed areas. On their tours you will not go to areas overrun with tourists. Their tours are fascinating because they cover only rural areas of the Rif mountains in the Taounate Region. The scenery you will see is some of the most beautiful in the world. It is a world far removed from all the tourists in other parts of Morocco. I think on this tour you see the real Morocco. The tour company promotes tours unlike any other tour company I have used in Morocco. If you like adventure and seeing great natural beauty, this is the tour company to use

Visit to beautiful Onsar village September 2016 - First time I came to Onsar in 2016 and found it really amazingly beautiful. Situated on save ground of rock by the side of a hill I could enjoy a fantastic view overlooking a wide river valley and behind a georgous Panorama of the Rif mountains. All the people of the Hlimi family that I met were extremely kind and of great hospitality. They treated me like one of their kind, served me super delicious food and home made bread, that Fouzia (al Merhab) bakes twice a week in her own clay stove that people use there since medieval ages. So it also was a journey in time I had never experienced before. Although people are not rich they will make your stay a georgous feast. Especially the Hlimi family are people with a great talent for enjoying their life in community, coming together and make everyone happy. If you don’t believe it, look for yourself. But don’t hesitate to long - go soon! I highly recommend! Angelika
