Best day in Morocco! - We did the souk visit and cooking class with Abdul and Chef Oussama and it was probably my favourite day in Morocco! They were so warm and friendly, took us to the best tea shop and it honestly just felt like friends hanging out. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, the lunch is delicious and you get a collection of spices, recipes and a certificate at the end. The only thing I’d change was my decision to eat breakfast that morning - you get so many tasters on the souk visit I would recommend going as hungry as possible! This is an absolute must for all foodies.

Best way to spend your day! - We had such a fun day with Abdul and Chef Oussama! The walk through the food market was phenomenal (go on an empty stomach); and the actual cooking class was so fun. We also made a stop at a tea shop that became a highlight of our entire trip! Thank you Abdul and Chef Oussama :)

Cooking fun at Palais Amani - My family and I came down for a cooking class after exploring the local medina that Palais Amani is located in. This was a wonderful experience and a must have item on your checklist to do before leaving Morocco!! We were welcomed in a beautiful almost resort-like backyard with fountains and trees and friendly staff offering us the sweet Moroccan mint tea that I often look forward to. We got the chance to experience the medina itself with the lead chefs where we got to buy our own fruits and vegetables as well as get a professional experience of the different sections of the medina (spices, sweets, bronze, etc). I will offer a piece of advice, stick closely with your chefs/guides as it is very chaotic and can get easily lost in the medina :) Chef Lubna and her lead chefs were so kind and funny, making the experience of cooking a foreign cuisine extremely enjoyable from cutting onion to seeing steam blossom from the mix of vegetables. Everyone’s demeanor was warm and welcoming and allowed for you to feel comfortable in trying a new skill of cooking appetizer, the main dish and a beautiful dessert. We each made our own dishes and it was a beautiful array of Moroccan cuisine: zabaat (eggplant) for the appetizer, vegetable pastille and the dessert was —. I would recommend this experience to anyone, with cooking experience or not! It’s a beautiful and wonderful time and you have to spend your time here before leaving Fez.

Wonderful experience cooking in Palais Amani - We had the most fantastic experience at the cooking class in Palais Amani. Upon arrival we were given some tea and cookies while relaxing in the beautiful gardens. From there we walked around the Souk getting our ingredients for dinner while trying some tasty local food and drinking some tea. We arrived back to the Palais and began to cook under the instruction of the chef. Once cooking was complete we ate our dinner in the beautiful gardens. Our guides, chef and all the staff at Palais Amani were so friendly which made our experience unforgettable. I would recommend this class to anyone visiting the beautiful city of Fes!!

Cooking class at Palais Amani - We had an amazing time at the Palais Amani, and a very good cooking class. We made chicken tajine and eggplant salad, and it was very tasty! Our experience guide, Loubna was the best. I highly recommend!

A full cookery experience - I have visited Palais Amani a number of times and love the hotel and food. On this visit I booked the cooking class and had a great time. I joined a couple of groups and they made me a single traveller very welcome. We walked around the medina buying our food, stopping off for tasty snacks and of course mint tea. Then back to the hotel and cookery school to be taught how to make aubergine dip, chicken tagine (though you could choose to make a vegetarian tagine) and then a delightful dessert. A great way to see the medina and learn to cook new food. Next trip I think I will try the baking class.

A great way to experience Fes - Chefs Loubna and Oussama are THE best. We booked it for our wedding anniversary and they were both so thoughtful on making sure that we have an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. The location is fantastic, the market visit to buy the products for the recipes was very interesting and fun, the cooking class in the rooftop was just perfect ! What a great way to experience Fes. Shukran Loubna and Oussama.

Great Experience - This was an incredible experience! It was supposed to be a group class but it ended up being just my partner and I which was a bonus. You start off at the Palais Amani - it’s a beautiful boutique hotel with a gorgeous tiled garden/courtyard. We were served unlimited Moroccan mint tea as we arrived early. We then were guided through the Medina to pick up our ingredients. We also did a culinary tasting tour where we stopped at various vendors for a private tasting. Abdul, our guide, was a great host - very informative and kind! We then returned to the hotel’s rooftop kitchen. The view is great and the setup is very cool. Our cooking lesson was great and we had lots of laughs and encouragement from the chef. We were then served our meal that we cooked in the courtyard downstairs. We were surprised with a basket of samples of the spices we used in our dish, a recipe card, chefs hats, and a certificate. I’m so glad we booked this tour and cooking class!
