An intimate tour of REAL life in Fes! - We had a memorable day on our guided tour of the city of Fes. Our guide was not only extremely competent but also passionate about the history and culture of the city. Thanks to him, we discovered hidden places, fascinating anecdotes, and an authentic atmosphere in every alley. The medina, with its splendid architecture and talented craftsmen, transported us to another time. A rich and unique experience that I highly recommend to all those who wish to discover Fes differently. Thanks to Ali for his generosity and this magnificent discovery!

Great tour with Ali, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! - We spend 25 days travelling in Morocco and fell in love with the country with Fez being one of our most favorite places. We booked a guided tour with guide Ali and had an amazing time and ended up booking another day. Ali is a great guy, super friendly (both our kids loved him) and very knowledgeable always stopping to point out interesting areas, buildings etc. He quickly figured out our interests and accommodated to what we wanted to see and experience. Visiting the Medina, starting early in the morning, walking through the narrow streets, we bought the ingredients for breakfast which then was prepared in one of the tea shops and served with the delicious Moroccan tea. After this we visited the weaver, tannery, ceramics and much more, had a great lunch and then did some shopping. We HIGHLY recommend to visit Fez and book a guided tour!!

Great experience - Yesterday we did a tour with Ali in the medina of Fez and it was an amazing experience. He was interested to know what we wanted to visit, adapted to our pace and told us funny anecdotes and story about Moroccan culture. Touring the Medina without a Local Guide can be very complicated because it is a maze, so we recommend having Ali on your visit. Highly recommended:)

The wonders of Fez - Rachid B was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The tour was delightful and very informative. I would not have felt comfortable exploring the Medina on my own. It was truly magical !

Welcome to the Fez maze - Everything you have read about the Medina of Fes is true. It's really crazy. 9200 streets and alleys. It's impossible to orient yourself there. Anything go down the 2 main streets and catch some detour and then return back to the main streets, no problem. But don’t think about taking streets and more streets on your own because you will get lost for sure. GPS works well but signals are lost in some areas. My recommendation, take an official guide and teach you the most important. It's worth it. If you can do it on the first day of your stay, the better. Inside the Medina I recommend visiting the Nejjarine museum and the Madrassas Atterine and Bou Inania. 2€ tickets each site. The mosque and the mausoleum cannot be visited inside as it is reserved for Muslims, but from the door you can see a little entrance and it is worth it. There are areas of the souks very crowded and others very quiet. The best thing is that they are not usually overwhelming and if you show no interest in something the sellers leave you alone. And follow all the recommendations given, do not go when they close the stalls, always look at the street signs to know if they have exit or not, do not heed the false guides, do not haggle if you do not plan to buy, etc. And my last recommendation, go to some good restaurant in the Medina, some cochambroso alleys give way to authentic luxury palaces in which you can eat well and at reasonable prices. Enjoy the colors, smells and flavors of Morocco!
