Desert trip to Marrakech - We got this tour on get your guide & we weren’t sure what to expect. We had two amazing driver/guides, which made the experience so much better. Hassan & Yunis are top guys & very kind. Hassan speaks both English & French & pointed out different things along the way. The desert was so fun with a camel ride & a stay in a luxury tent equipped with AC. The first day had a good few stops while the second day had a lot less. We also saw Atlas studios where a lot of movies were made & finally we also saw Ait Ben Haddou which I wish we had more time in, one hour was too short. I would recommend this experience for the price & the amount of things experienced. Thanks to our drivers as well.

Moha our driver from fes to merrekech - Moha was our driver and tour guide on a 3 day tour from fes to marrakech with a stay in the dessert. He was very knowledgeable of the places we visited. He offered advise on where to visit and what to purchase at reasonable prices. This was helpful since we visited from miami. Florida and it was our visit to morocco.

Once in a lifetime experience and amazing driver!! - An absolutely jam packed 3 days!
We started in Fes and were greeted by the lovely Moha, who was our driver for the full experience.
The first day consisted of around 8 hours travel with a few stops. First stop was in Ifrane, a Moroccan ski resort modelled on a Swiss village. We also saw the monkey forest, and had a chance to get a panoramic shot of the Ziz river oasis.
The night was spent in a well established camp site, where the tent was equipped with a large bed, sofa, bathroom with a shower and air conditioning!! (We went with the luxury option as it was only a tiny bit more, but it seemed the only difference was the air-con). When we first arrived we went on an hour long camel ride to watch the sunset over the dunes of the Sahara. A 3 course meal was included along with some evening entertainment watching the Berbers perform traditional Moroccan music.
The next day we spent an hour in a small market town with a free guide. Although it was an interesting experience the group felt that we stayed here for too long. We then move onto Todra Gorge, where we were limited to 15 minutes as we had fallen behind on time. We were disappointed by this as the gorge was stunning and we would have loved to spend some more time here. The night was spent in a hotel in Ouarzazate. The rooms were lovely, but as a vegetarian there were no food options available for me, so this was not ideal!
The final day we made our way to Marrakesh. This was a shorter day of travelling, at around 5 hours. We stopped in Ait Ben Haddou and had a lovely time exploring the centuries old traditional Berber settlement, which is also the site of many films!
Moha was an amazing driver! He got involved in the conversation and loved to get the bus singing and dancing along to the music. He also doubled up as a tour guide at multiple stops, filling us in with the history of locations and showing the best places to get photos of the breathtaking views!

Incredible experience with a great driver :) - After a few days in Fes we were ready to get away from the city and started out on our journey to the Sahara. After being picked up as close to our Riad as possible we set off towards the desert, stopping briefly at Ifrane (a ski resort modelled on a Swiss town), the monkey forest, and a viewpoint to take in the stunning Ziz Oasis. Once we arrived at Merzouga, we boarded our camels and headed out into the dunes for the sunset!
After this we were fed a three course meal and treated to some traditional music by the local berber people. The luxury tent itself was well equipped with AC and a full bathroom!
The next day we woke early to watch the sun rise above the desert, then had breakfast and continued on towards Marrakech. We stopped in the market town of Rissani to see how Moroccans living close to the Sahara go about their lives, then at Todhra Gorge where we walked a little through the river and took in the sights. Our accommodation and meal that night were in a nice hotel in the city of Ouarzazate.
After breakfast the next morning we started the final leg of our journey. We stopped briefly at Atlas Movie Studios, then again at the UNESCO Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou, a beautiful kasbah set into a hill rising out of the desert. This village has also been used to film Game of Thrones, Gladiator and many other films/tv shows. Following this we finally made it to our final destination - Marrakech.
Our driver for this whole experience was Moha, a man who grew up in a city in the desert and had a lot of information for us throughout the trip. He was friendly, funny, and kept us engaged throughout what could have otherwise been some fairly tedious drives. Thank you Moha!!

Fantastic 3-Day Desert Tour from Fez to Marrakesh – An unforgettable experience! - I was lucky enough to take part in a 3-day desert tour from Fez to Marrakesh, and all I can say is that it was an incredibly rewarding experience. The tour exceeded all my expectations, and a special thanks goes to our rider Hassan, who made the experience even better.
Our driver Hassan – A highlight of the tour
Hassan was a truly exceptional driver and travel companion. He was not only an extremely safe and skilled driver, but also incredibly friendly, helpful and always in a good mood. Hassan had extensive knowledge of the region and gave us interesting insights into the history, culture and surroundings on the drive. He always made us feel comfortable and responded to our wishes, which made the ride very enjoyable. His positive energy and humor made even the longer journeys in the van a great experience.
Landscape and Route – Stunning
The drive from Fez to Marrakesh was long, but the scenery was simply spectacular. We crossed different regions of Morocco, from the green hills of the Middle Atlas to barren rocky landscapes and the vast, majestic Sahara. Each section of the route had its own unique charm, and there were numerous stops where we could admire the scenery and take photos. Especially impressive were the huge sand dunes of the Sahara, which took our breath away.
Sahara and Desert Camp – A Magical Experience
The absolute highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the Sahara at sunset. The dunes stretched as far as the eye could see, and the light of the setting sun bathed the landscape in a warm, golden light. The desert camp we stayed in was comfortable and offered an authentic experience. We sat around the campfire, listening to traditional music and admiring the clear starry sky – a moment I won’t soon forget.
Lunchstops – Somewhat expensive and touristy
If there's one small criticism of the tour, it's the lunch stops. The restaurants we visited along the way were often quite touristy and the prices relatively high. The food was fine, but lacked a little authenticity and local flair. I would have liked us to have had more opportunities to eat in less touristy restaurants to get a more authentic dining experience. Nevertheless, this was not a big disadvantage as the quality of the food was fine and the breaks were good for rest.
Conclusion
The 3-day desert tour from Fez to Marrakesh was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone. The long journey times were more than compensated by the fantastic scenery, and Hassan did everything to make us feel completely comfortable. From spectacular views to magical desert experiences, this tour offers a perfect blend of adventure, relaxation and culture. An absolute must for anyone who really wants to experience Morocco!
